Rypro's thread inspired me, so I will start one of my own. Gimme some constructive criticism please ;).

The Walkmen- Great Strokes like stuff but a little more melodic
Early Pink Floyd (Syd Barrett Era)- Great stuff and if your into that he has a few solo albums

and pick up that new Radiohead album, i'm loving it.

I got chewed apart for some indifferent things I said about Wilco on this board before. I was really underwhelmed with YHF.

I plan on buying all of those, but I have decided to hold off on Beatles because I can feel remasters coming sometime in the near future.

Seeing as you like a cross of classic and alternative, I would check out Big Star. You can get their first two recordings on one CD ("#1 Record/Radio City")

Ted Leo/Pharmacists' Hearts of Oak is one of the great rock records of the year.

The Replacements, definitely...

X is a great band, you need to listen to them. Influenced a fair number of the bands on your list.

No CD collection should be without Miles Davis, Kind of Blue. You had one jazz CD I saw, a really great one (Coltrane), but you need to have two.

I am in the minority because I think that is their 3rd best album behind 'Summerteeth' and 'Being There'. I definitely recommend those two before 'YankeeHotelFoxtrot'. Just my 2 cents.

Maybe try some Frank Zappa - Strictly Commercial would be as good a place to start as any.

You should also give THE SOUNDS - Living in America a listen. Great stuff.

You're definitely on the right track, IMO. I've got almost every album you've got. Look the following stuff up on allmusic to see why I’m recommending it to you:

Marquee Moon by Television would be right up your alley. MM is better than Adventure, IMO.
Get Minor Threat’s “Complete Discography” for some classic hardcore.
Girlfriend by Matthew Sweet…you’d love it.
Get Pulp’s Different Class
Do not proceed with life until you purchase “Astral Weeks” by Van Morrison
You’ve picked the absolute best of the Stooges, nice selection. Get the debut album by the New York Dolls to get a different and equally good view of early punk.
I think you’d like “Sweetheart of the Rodeo” by the Byrds, it’s probably the best country rock album ever.
You gotta get the Flaming Lip’s “Yoshimi”, I love it.
Get any album by Husker Du, start out with “Flip Your Wig”. They are the definitive pop-punk band.
Dinosaur Jr’s Green Mind: excellent grizzled Neil Young on shrooms rock. You need it.
Big Star’s three albums, you need them. Required listening.
