Well I flipped it over to the show and he was talking to an astronaut. He continued through the music part so no FoW.
Unless he had them on early for some reason.

I listened to this again for the purpose of adding some songs to my FOW compliation CD (I make band specific compliations for the car ride since I pretty much hate morning radio with a passion). I'm still of the opinion that this is merely a decent spin, but I found that I like some songs on the second listen more than the first.
Any news on a new album for these guys?

Giles! I fucking LOVE "Supercollider". It's cool and psychedelic.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have to say Leave the Biker is my favorite FOW song. I don't know why, it's just so catchy, pure pop fun, just like the band themselves. I'm really happy these guys are finding sucess. Now if only Tonic can do teh same thing.

Fountains of Wayne - Traffic and Weather
Not alot of buzz about this new release from FOW, and deservedly so. This album is a subpar effort for these guys. It does have some decent singles on it (Someone to Love, Traffic & Weather), but a large share of duds that don't work. I think the issue is that they don't develop a sound on the record. Is it alternative? Or rock-pop? Or country? Hard to say. The guys have always been genre-jumpers, but this record just doesn't ever find its voice. Not one of my more favorite releases this year, which is disappointing, because I really like these guys.

Not a fan but this sucks

Adam Schlesinger, best known as co-founder of the band Fountains of Wayne, is hospitalized in upstate New York with COVID-19.
While it was initially reported that the 52-year-old bassist, singer and songwriter was in a medically-induced coma, his attorney Jaime Herman tells Yahoo that is inaccurate. However, he is very ill and has been hospitalized for more than a week.
Herman provided a statement from Schlesinger’s family, saying, “Thank you for the outpouring of love for Adam and his family. Adam has been hospitalized with COVID-19. He’s on a ventilator and has been sedated to facilitate his recovery. He is receiving excellent care, his condition is improving and we are cautiously optimistic. His family appreciates all of the love and support.”

Wow. Very unexpected. I very much enjoyed his songwriting skills and his song in That Thing That You Do.
Did he have any underlying health conditions?

I can’t say I was a big fan of Fountains of Wayne, but I love the soundtrack to That Thing You Do! and that’s one of my favorite original movie songs ever.

Adam was one of the most prolific dudes in the music industry the last 25 years or so. In addition to his work with FOW,he had 286 albums he was a significant Producer or songwriter to. Really loved his stuff with They Might Giants and The Monkees

I was a big fan of both FOW and Ivy, and am really bummed about this news.

As a big fan of FOW, I'm pretty upset about this too.
BTW, it's strange how some of the articles I've read refer to him as the singer or even the frontman for the group. Well, he sang backing vocals as many band members do, but I don't remember him ever singing lead. He was like Noel Gallagher of Oasis, the heart of the band despite not being the frontman/lead singer.
