Headbanger's Ball Week 4: The Revenge!

Yeah I missed last weeks episode, BUT I taped it, so it was all good. They did a fantastic job last week.

30 minutes into the episode this week. So far they have played the new Metallica video, Shadows Fall, Stone Sour, and Norma Jean(!!).

I am loving the fact that they are playing videos from bands in the hardcore genre. Norma Jean is an amazing band, and check out some stuff by them if you haven't heard them yet.

Judas Priest is going to be played later on. Old or new, I don't know.

I will update some more of this later.

It's the same one they always play. That is the only video they have that I know of. It was cool because that was the second video, and afterwards Rob Zombie and Stone Sour praised Shadows Fall for being a great band.

The band has worked hard, and I am happy they are getting some success.

They did play an old Priest video, but for some reason, I can't remember Trust me it has been a LONG day for me.

They play Arch Enemy during the second hour, and it was far from being the last video. They also played Hate Eternal at the top of the 11:00 hour.

They did a segment on Suffication(!). Not much nu-metal other than Staind and Stone Sour (who I can tolerate).

Next week Powerman 5000 is the musical guest.

Funny note about Powerman 5000, this occured when I was hanging out at my local record store. It is an independant store, Cheap Thrills Records (don't know why I am pugging it). Anyway they buy and sell used CD's. The Powerman CD came out last Tuesday, but the following Thursday they already had four used CD's in one location, and the other stores location had about the same amount. For a CD that has been out for a week, they already have eight copies used for sale. That's sad, and not a good sign.

Morale of the story kids, is buy Lamb of God, Deftones, or Darkest Hour.

cerial442 speaks a sentence I *never* thought I'd hear:

OK, I actually did hear about this on some metal forum. Still rather tough to swallow, though.

Just to confirm: This show is only on MTV2, right? I'm pretty sure I don't get that channel.

Yeah MTV2, Saturdays from 10 til midnight.

I figured they would atleast rerun it on regular MTV, during the week or so, but a Real World from five years ago has to be shown.

Do you get Much Music (now called Fuse), a lot of videos are shown on that Uranium. A lot but not all.

To the best of my knowledge, the only music channels I get are MTV and VH-1. And, since I try to extend my concept of "metal" beyond Korn and Limp Bizkit, those aren't sufficient to satisfy my craving.

Thanks for telling me about Shadows Fall. I guess it was Thoughts Without Words since its the only video they have that I know of.

I have to ask, which Arch Enemy video? Ravenous?

The Shadows Fall video they played was Destroyer Of Senses.

Another great job this week. I love Arch Enemy but that video was pretty bad. Why did they make everything so blurry in it??

That Hate Eternal song has got to go. I like death metal, but of all the bands to choose to put on there, why them specifically, week after week?

Gotta love the money shot in Priest's YGATC video where the guy's head explodes AND his pants fall down. Unlucky.

Because Hate Eternal is the shiznit.

I would like to see Morbid Angel's video for "God of Emptyness" shown. That is one creepy video.

Well, I'm enjoying the show, a little something for everyone. I know this is an old argument, but does anyone actually understand the lyrics from bands like Lamb of God and Hate Eternal? I can't make out a single word and I was really trying!

Now if they would only play Death Angel, Forced Entry, Sacred Reich, Trouble...

Yeah I can understand them. The new Lamb of God lyrics are a little more clearer than the older CD.

The video they are showing is from the older CD.
