Want to be famous....join Courtney Love's new band?

From reuters.com

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Never one to keep any aspect of her life out of the public eye, Courtney Love has placed full-page ads in New York's Village Voice and L.A. Weekly in an attempt to recruit new members for her live band.

The ad says, "Women required for International Rock Revolution. Join Courtney Love's touring band and get famous, see the world."

"Must play bass or guitar (really play), and look like a Goddess," the ad continues. "We like Emily the Strange, Lolita Goth, Patty Schemel's drumming, Nuggets and 'Performance' the Movie. We love Flea but don't want you to play like him." Love stresses "NO BOYS" will be considered.

An address for audition tapes and a phone number are listed. Calling the number dumps callers to an answering machine message from the former Hole frontwoman that says, "Hey, leave us your info. You better be able to play." The mailbox quickly filled to capacity.

Love is at work on her solo debut, "America's Sweetheart," and is negotiating with a number of labels for its North American release. The artist is already signed to Poptones/Telstar in the U.K. A number of the new cuts were co-written with 4 Non Blondes' Linda Perry (Pink, Christina Aguilera).

Love will play the U.K.'s Reading and Leeds festivals in August, followed by additional European dates and a North American tour in the fall.

Since she is done with her former band, Hole, I guess she had decided to go solo.

But if you want to join Courtney Love's band, sorry guys, this is for ladies only.

I guess I could dress in drag and try out...but I doubt she what want someone in the band that looked better than her.

Hrm. Granted, it's a high profile gig, but it would be sheer torture to put up with that hosebeast on tour.

Oh, let's see... Linda Perry is writing this album. Billy Corgan wrote the last Hole album, and Kurt wrote "Live Through This."

Yup, I agree, that proves that Courtney Love knows nothing about songwriting.
