Anybody else think Lars' legs got tired about 1/2 way through the medley? Sounded sloppy to me on Battery. The intro to the new song was good, but then it kind of hit the skids. Have to wait and see, but I'm more hopeful now. Korn was the best, Limp was intersesting, thought Avril sucked. She was smart to cover something from their semi-heavy era. Would've liked to see her try an oldie, how about Motorbreath or Damage Inc., heh.

- Avril as a singer & performer sucked very much. Her band on the other hand handled the song pretty well imo.

- Limp Bizkit, I didnt like at all. As soon as that DJ kicked in, it just sounded wrong imo. If anything at least Fred stayed away from that whiny high pitch singing he does alot.

- Korn. It was interesting. I didnt like Fieldy's loose bass string sound at all, it was very much distracting. I thought they kicked ass during the end of the song.

- Staind was pretty much boring. They didnt catch the original guitar sound at all.

- Sum41. They were alright. I've been reading how great their guitarist is, but I wasnt all that impressed.

- Snoop was a joke....

All in all it just goes to show how their is only one Metallica and their powerfull sound can only come from them!

I am just guessing but since Frantic is around 7 or 8 min, they had to cut it sometime (plus mtv is notrorious for cutting songs in the middle)

Funny how they let the other performers play, but cut Metallica, the band who the show is dedicated to! crazy mtv.

Frantic is just under 8 minutes I believe, however they only played like a 5 minute version for the taping.

So MTV cut the half song in half again!!!!

I snagged all of the performances of kazaa and have been listening to them again.

Listening to Avril's performance made it better, cuz I didn't have to watch her stand uninterested near the mic. However, I've never seen her move around too much for her own songs either.

Staind, was not good. They didn't really play the song right guitar-wise, and Aaron's voice is so strong, but didn't come through.

Snoop was bad, but fun too watch. Cmon he was wearing a Metallica shirt!

Korn was great imo. JD had his 'het' voice on full swing, i love fieldy's bass, he is fun too watch. The ending of the song really was intense.

Limp was way better than I thought they could ever be. I'd rather that a band take a song and try and make it their own, then simply just recreate what Metallica has already done. Why bother? Cuz nobody can do Metallica justice when you get right down to it.

frantic can't wait to hear this tightened up with better audio!

Your radio station still may have something. One of my stations, X106.3 in WV is doing the Maytallica and they are listed. I think it is all Clear Channel stations doing it. Check your radio stations web site.

Interestingly enough, the lyrics to "frantic" were the primarily written by Lars, who is openly afraid of death and occasionally obsessed with it as well.

This according to one of the club videos that I watched. I'm sure that Het put some input into the song, however Lar's started it.
