what's that song that's playing when max is messing with Blume's brakes? it goes "you are forgiven. you are forgiven." is it on the soundtrack?

on a different note. i went to a club recently and they played q lazzarus - goodbye horses and i thought about the guy in silence of the lambs and the tuck scene.

"A Quick One, While He's Away" by The Who. It's on the soundtrack.

By the way, the soundtrack itself is great. Highly recommended.

The version on the soundtrack is different than the one on the album. Does anyone know why this is?

The version on the soundtrack and the album are the same, it's the live version from "The Rolling Stones' Rock & Roll Circus," the movie just doesn't start the song at the beginning. You can tell it's the Circus version because the Who sings the word "Cello" where cellos would actually be playing during the album version. The album version of the song appears on "A Quick One."

Actually, they sing "Cello" on the album version too. But you're right, it is the version on "Rock & Roll Circus" (also to be found on "Kids are Alright"). The best one though, IMO, is on "Live at Leeds" expanded edition.

Agreed. One of the best soundtracks I own.

I absolutely agree. Also, the version of Tommy on disc two simply destroys the studio version. Pete's power chords, Moons endlessly smooth surf-rolls and cymbal-twacking and, most of all, Entwhistle's bottomless bass combine to produce some ridiculously powerful music. This will make anyone instant Who fans. After 22 years, it's still the best live album ever.
