King Crimson - The Power To Believe.
These guys can out-thrash bands twenty years their junior - hell, Robert Fripp is almost as old as my dad!

Although I'm sure I've heard KC before and didn't know it, I heard the new cd for the first time last weekend.
Wild stuff.

Echoboy
I'm going to suggest you try the newest album by Echoboy, titled "Giraffe". It was released a few weeks back on the Mute label. While his past albums have had more of a krautrock/shoegazer/"robot rock" (to borrow from QOTSA) feel, this one is a bit "poppier". Though poppier in the way that New Order, Doves, Primal Scream, Depeche Mode and Radiohead are. There is a little bit of all those bands in this album. It was co-produced by Flood, who has worked with Bjork, amongst others. Echoboy is a very unique artist, and I urge you all to give him a try. The current single is the Doves-like "Automatic Eyes" and a good intro. The electro/disco-tinged (think the heavier tracks on Primal Scream's "Xtrmntr") "Lately Lonely" is also fantastic, as well as the Radiohead-by-way-of Joy Division track "Fun in You". I work at a Borders in Michigan, and even we received a copy of the album, so hopefully it's somewhat available for you. If you end up enjoying it, check out his previous album, "Volume 2". The video for "Telstar Recovery" (one of his best songs ever) from that album received some airplay on M2 (where I first learned of him), so you may already have an idea of who Echoboy is. If you end up enjoying it, please post your thoughts in this thread.

Also, I second the earlier suggestion of the Casino vs Japan album "Whole Numbers Play The Basics". Wonderful album. Oddly enough, an earlier track of his was recently used in a car commercial.

Just saw a video for a group called Hope of the States, their song "Black Dollar Bills" - downright amazing. Think Spiritualized meets Mogwai. I am fuming that the UK single was a limited release and is OOP. Want desperately to know if a full length album is in the works and will feature the video as an enhanced bonus track.
