Dammit, this stuff just angers me. Why are Brooks and Dunn in this every single year? As long as Buddy Miller is left out and things continue like this, I can say that the country awards are the worst of any of the ceremonies. Simply awful.

I like Montgomery Gentry, but Brooks and Dunn will win it. Which is so sad. I am tired of seeing them as well. They are not good entertainers, either.
I also liked Toby Keith and hope he whips the Dixie Chicks' asses. They stink. Plus they dissed Toby, the bitches. Oooooh. Shania is nominated. Too bad that one single (I'm Gonna Getcha Good) is the only good song on the album. My picks: Entertainer: Toby Keith (he won't win, which is sad) Male Vocalist: George Strait (saw him in concert, and while not being an entertainer he IS the best male vocalist in country around today) Female Vocalist: No doubt: Martina McBride Group: Diamond Rio Duo: Montgomery Gentry Album: Unleashed or No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems Single: Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American) Song: Drive (For Daddy Gene) Vocal Event: Mendocino County Line - Willie and Leann Womack Video: Who's Your Daddy - Toby Keith here is to hoping Rascal Flatts and the Dixie Chicks go home empty handed. |

So darn. We caught up with Toby at the DreamWorks' House of Blues after-party and he told us, "They couldn't find me, I was off on the bus with Willie (Nelson) and we'd started writing a song together." Toby said, "If I had known I won and been on stage I would have thanked My Lord God Almighty, my family, my management, all the folks at DreamWorks records, country radio and my fans." At the same time, folks at Toby's label indicated a certain rage when they saw the apparently inflammatory letters on Maine's shirt, and indicated that may have played a part in why Keith ultimately didn't show to claim his award. |
