Top Ten, off the top of my head, in two parts:

Absolutely, always:

1) Where is My Mind ? / The Pixies
Love it, love it, love it. Even before they put it in "Fight Club," I thought this was the best song EVAH

2) She Floated Away / Husker Du
Great music, neat words.

3) How Soon is Now ? / The Smiths
When I was in my "Smiths" phase, I must have listened to this daily. A haunting song.

4) Headache / Frank Black
How many songs can get away with the line: "My heart's crammed in my cranium, and it still knows how to pound."

5) Paradise City / G n' R
Proof that not all metal sucks; a classic.

Not quite as good as 1 - 5, but great nonetheless:

6) Monkey Goen to Heaven / The Pixies
I could fill my list with Pixies' songs, but this stands out.

7) Only Happy When it Rains / Garbage
Perfectly captures Garbage's style, great songwriting.

8) The Magnificent Seven / The Clash
Sonically interesting. You must remember when this was written, to understand what a spectacular song this is.

9) And She Was / Talking Heads
OK, Byrne is as weird as a three-dollar bill, but this reminds me of "She Floated Away."

10) Paradise by the Dashboard Light / Meatloaf
I don't want to take too much crap for this one, but I loved it when it came out, and I sing along with it every time I hear it.

For #11, see my signature.
