Korn, Disturbed and Ozzy for Ozzfest so far.

The eighth installment of Ozzfest will boast Korn, Marilyn Manson, and Disturbed among its mainstage acts, a source tells Billboard.com. The annual hard rock festival tour will kick off in June and will, according to the official Ozzfest Web site, once again visit England as well as trek across North America. Full details are to be revealed on Tuesday (Feb. 18).

Last year's edition of the tour featured the tour's namesake Ozzy Osbourne headlining, as well as System Of A Down, Rob Zombie, P.O.D., Chevelle, and many other bands.

The tour's initial two dates were scotched when Osbourne's wife and manager, Sharon, was diagnosed with colon cancer. Ozzy later left the tour for several shows while she was undergoing chemotherapy.

Another tragedy struck during the tour when Drowning Pool frontman Dave Williams was found dead on the band's tour bus when it reached the Manassas, Va., stop on the tour. An autopsy determined he died of natural causes.

Last summer's version of Ozzfest was the lone festival package among the top-25 grossing tours of 2002, grossing $24.5 million.

Ozzfest Gears Up For Another Summer Run

As first tipped here last week (billboard.com), Korn, Disturbed, and Marilyn Manson will headline Ozzfest 2003, which kicks off its eighth edition June 28 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in San Antonio, Texas. Fest father Ozzy Osbourne and Chevelle will also be on the main stage of the 28-date tour, details of which were unveiled today (Feb. 18) at the Osbourne family's Los Angeles-area home.

Ticket prices are expected to average $50 apiece, the same as last year's Ozzfest. In a new twist, a limited number of $10 lawn tickets will be sold at tour venues beginning in March. According to festival organizer Sharon Osbourne, this bargain pricing strategy will ensure Ozzfest will still be heard amid the bevy of other rock summer tours, including the returning Lollapalooza and the Metallica/Linkin Park/Limp Bizkit Summer Sanitarium outing.

"We always try to keep the pricing down. We haven't raised them anywhere," Sharon said. "Everyone is short of money these days. Even I am." When asked about all the competition, her husband Ozzy Osbourne chimed in, "There's enough room for everybody." Added Marilyn Manson, "Ozzfest has the best bands. You know what you're going to get: Ozzy guarantees."

Second stage acts include Cradle Of Filth, Trust Company, Finger Eleven, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, Nothingface, Hotwire, Twisted Method, Unloco, Grade 8, and Memento. North American Shows will wrap Aug. 28 at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Fla., although Sharon Osbourne confirmed the tour will hit a few European markets in or around September. England, Germany, Scandinavia, and Holland are among the areas in contention.

Not all of the bands are nu-metal crapola.

Killswitch Engage (metalcore), Shadows Fall (thrash metal), Cradle of Filth (Black Metal), Nothingface(not exactly nu-metal), plus Manson usually puts on a good show.

I wouldn't really pay $100 to go, but the bands I mentioned are pretty good.

Not only is this year suck, the timing of it is horrible. Going to an all day festival in the middle of July in AZ is hell on earth.

Wait.

I was under the impression that Sharon Osbourne didn't get along with Jonathan Davis.

Have they patched up their little snit?
