And the scary part is, they're ALL good. You'd never get a consensus on which ones to d/l either. Everybody has their favorites for one reason or another.

I would recommend just checking out the setlists and pick shows that showcase your favorite moe. tunes. If you don't know enough about moe. to do that, then just start downloading some. Look for the 4-20-02 show with John Popper. That one rules.

I've found a lot of really cool bands on this thing. I really like Carbon Leaf (I downloaded their most recent show at 9:30 Club), a Guster show, Jump Little Children, and now I'm thinking about downloading a Donna the Buffalo show.

I didn't know anything about Carbon Leaf before, but I loved them. JLC and Guster lived up to how good their cds are. I know nothing about Donna the Buffalo, besides that I like their name.

I hope other people are enjoying this service.

Anyone know of any artists in the archive like Jack Johnson. I just can't get enough of his stripped down music.....guitar, bongos, and him singing. I've been at antsmarching.org also. Any DMB fans around that could recommend a show?

If you want some stripped down acoustic music, download some shows by Glenn Philips (lead singer of Toad the Wet Sprocket). He has an amazing voice and is a wonderful songwriter.

He also just got done touring as a part of Mutual Admiration Society along with the members of Nickel Creek with John Paul Jones on bass and Pete Thomas on drums. There is a really good MAS show from Lexington, KY up now. MAS played original songs written by Philips, Nickel Creek songs and a bunch of covers.

Everyone should download Mason Jennings' 2/13/04(?) show at the Minnesota State Theatre. AMAZING SHOW!!! He played three covers from Dylan, Cash, and Elliott Smith, which he normally doesnt do.

Re: Jack Johnson. I'm not sure how similar they might be, but he plays quite a bit with Ben Harper and G Love. So, if you haven't already, I'd check them out.

Re: DMB shows. I just pulled the show from 7-10-04 (Hershey). The sound quality is amazing, and it features four new songs that I assume will be on the next DMB album. That's if you're looking for new stuff. Old stuff, I'd start with 3-23-93.

Thanks, I'm pretty much caught up on d/l all the GD shows that I want. Now I'm just checking the website to see what new shows are being added. I recently keyed into Excel all of the show dates, and it is now easily sortable and searchable. Also, I printed out show date indexes for each of my CD wallets and affixed them to the inside covers. It's incredible being able to pick out any show at random, stick it in the CD player and hearing yet another crispy soundboard recording of Jerr and the boys. Life is Good!

MFRONE: Thanks for the suggestion on Glen Phillips. I checked out his 11-15-03 concert. I've listened to a few songs and he sounds great.

Tommy_Harn: Yea, I've been a big Ben Harper fan for quite a long time. I've checked out a few songs by G Love. Need to download more of his songs though. I'll check out those DMB shows. So far I've just looked at the forum to figure out which shows to download first. Check out 3-19-03 for a great Dave and Tim show.

The answer is Mason Jennings. Jack and Mason have toured together. And I believe a few of those shows should be on archive.org with the two of them playing together on a few songs. Download the 2.21.03 and 2.13.04 show, both are awesome.

MFRONE: I checked out Mutual Admiration Society. They have a great sound. Couldn't find the KY show so I downloaded the Lexington, VA show. Great sound quality and the crowd is quiet during the show.

I'm not sure if it's a great match, but if you like JJ you might enjoy some of the earlier Jason Mraz concerts. When he used to play at Java Joes it was with a guitar and bongo drums. There is some pretty cool stuff.

I left off Mraz...I did download one of his older Java Joe's shows. He is good. I'll have to try Big Head Todd as I don't really know any of their music. Same thing with Moe.
