Do you know if Jack Johnson has sung a complete version of High Tide/Low Tide? He does a tease of it on the 5-8-02 show, and it's just awesome. I've been looking for a copy of the show I was at, 10-16-02, and etree has it!

They shouldn't be converted to mp3, unless you only plan to use them for personal use and never trade anything you make from the mp3s. Probably the easiest is just to convert from SHN to WAV and use whatever MP3 encoder on the WAV.

The Etree archive had a pretty large collection of DMB until a recent trading policy change. There is a nice archive at http://www.antsmarching.org though. I've never downloaded anything from Etree's archive because the main live music I collect is DMB and John Mayer.

What he said. ^

Use this program to convert to WAV. Then you can drop the WAV files right back into it to convert to MP3. But please, don't circulate MP3's of this music. Let's keep it at the best quality possible.

I haven't even tried the FTP method yet. I just click on the directories and then [right-click/save] on the files individually. It's been said earlier in this thread, that to download through http will take some time, but I repeat, IT'S WORTH IT!

Host for ftp is etree0x.archive.org, port 21, anonymous login/pw. Just browse through various numbers in place of the x.

Wow.

Check out the Mr. Blotto cover of "Me & Bobby McGee" from the 5-27-01 show. Amazing keyboard work.

Excellent. Nothing like being able to fire up Bulletproof FTP, queue up what you want, and walk away. It's just too bad they don't have the approval of John Mayer's management.

I don't think you're going to see too many teeny-pop stars on that list.

I've been downloading music for the last couple weeks, some really awesome stuff here. What are everyone’s favorites? I've been downloading mostly Jack Johnson & Tim Reynolds but I'm ready to start branching out.

I just downloaded Mason Jennings. How come I've never heard of him before? really awesome stuff. The 04-26-02 show is great. Anyone have any of his CDs?

The first thing I downloaded from the archive was a Jack Johnson show. Great stuff. I've been downloading mostly Mr. Blotto, Umphrey's McGee, moe., SCI, and RAQ.

I've heard a lot of good things about Mason Jennings, but I haven't heard any of it yet, besides the duets he did with Jack Johnson on the show I downloaded. I'll have to check that 4-26 show out. Will I recognize any of the songs??

I have the moe. 03-04-01 show on 2 .shn discs. I already burned em as audio CDs and I don't archive my .shn discs, so I have no more use for them.

If anyone wants to trade for them, let me know what you have!

Just wanted to recommend a couple of bands that most haven't heard of on this thing-Jump Little Children and Guster. This is the coolest website that I've seen in a while.

Between the archive, www.livephish.com, and www.gdlive.com, I've gone through two 50-packs of blank discs in the last month.

I've also been finding some great BitTorrent sites. I got an incredible sounding recording of the Billy Joel and Elton John 3-14-03 Face 2 Face show in South Carolina off www.phishhook.com.

I've just replaced DVDs as my hobby for a while. This is so much fun.

And my company is upgrading their ISDN(128K) internet connection to a cable modem. What timing!!! I guess the 100 CDRs I got for X-mas will be gone in no time. Big Head Todd - 9 shows, Gin Blossoms - 2 shows, Jack Johnson - 93 shows(whoa), Jason Mraz - 156(double whoa), Tim Reynolds, Maroon5 - 17 shows, Mason Jennings, Soul Coughing(excellent band), Tenacious D, and Toad the Wet Sprocket.

Looks like a have a new hobby on my hands.
