Grateful Dead - VFTV 4 (Preorder)

You can pre-order View From The Vault #4 from Bestbuy.com for the April 8th release date at $19.99 and get free shipping on it too. List is $24.99.

This release will cover the first two sets of 7/24/87 (Oakland Col.) and 7/26/87 (Anaheim Stad.). Sadly, both set 3 Dylan sets are being omitted.

Has there ever been anymore discussion of releasing 12/31/78? Or "The Grateful Dead Movie" (with outtakes)?

Of course, I'm looking forward to the day when the Pranksters (or whomever) finally releases "Sunshine Daydream" (it is, supposedly, being prepped for DVD), but the current dearth of video releases from the 70s and 60s is starting to bug me. I like late-era Dead, for the most part, but it just doesn't have the same appeal as the 60s/70s-era stuff... for me anyway.

Thanks for the info Jack Straw (also one of my fave Dead Songs) I looked up the setlist, looks like a great show. I agree Richard, my fave dead years are 77, and 85. I have lots of shows from 77 and 85. I love the view from the vault shows, but you can tell on some of them the guys are getting tired. Im kind of a new dead fan (started in like 88) but did they have video stuff at the 12/31/78 show? Jack what is your fave VFTV that has been released so far?

I would love to see Sunshine Daydream finally get released and that's great news to hear that it might actually happen. I read a great review of the movie/show in I think Dupree's Diamond News Magazine. It likened the show to the stages in a LSD trip. The show was from 08/27/72. Great set list and great performances difenately one of my favorite shows.

BTW my favorite Dead periods are the '72 era and '77 era.

VFTV III - I always like that Shoreline show (especially set 1) from listening to it many times before the official release.
