Umm, I'm not really sure what "classic" 80s songs you are looking for, but I would suggest these.
The Smiths - "There is a Light that Never Goes Out" and/or "How Soon is Now" Tom Waits - "Downtown Train" New Order - "Regret" Talking Heads - "Life After Wartime" and/or "Psycho Killer" And some others (I'm not positive of the dates) Elton John - "Tiny Dancer" Neil Young - "Cortez the Killer" and/or "The Needle and the Damage Done" |
The stuff you've listed so far seems pretty mellow, so my suggestions will lean that way too (all from the 70s):
Bachman-Turner Overdrive - Takin' Care of Business Bachman-Turner Overdrive - You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) the Reaper Cheap Trick - Surrender Creedence Clearwater Revival - Lookin' Out My Backdoor Eagles - Desperado Eagles - Hotel California Faces - Ooh La La Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama Lynyrd Skynyrd - Tuesday's Gone Steve Miller Band - Jet Airliner Steve Miller Band - Take The Money and Run Steve Miller Band - The Joker Hope some of those fit. |
i don't know if this will help...
i'll refrain from song titles, since i'm a total craphead at remembering song titles... sure, i can sing the whole frickin' song.. but you want its name?! bah! ask somebody else! ;)
ANYWAY... judging from your list so far, these artists had popular songs in the 70's and 80's that might appeal to you - i'll try not to repeat too many.. what's more, i think all if not most of these artists have greatest hits cds out that can be culled from - or, if you're downloading the music, look up the greatest hits cds and the song titles that accompany them: The Cars Talking Heads Stevie Wonder The Guess Who George Thorogood and the Destroyers ("One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" in particular) Journey Foreigner ("Cold As Ice") Yes Boston R.E.M. (the albums up to and incl. Green) U2 (pre-Achtung Baby) Bryan Adams (pre-any-soundtrack) i think adumbc hit some very good ones on the head, as well. okay, i did think of some specific songs: Bob Dylan - "Hurricane" Survivor - "Eye of the Tiger" Guns'n'Roses - "Patience" -di doctor- |
Sister Goldenhair - America
Dance With Me - Orleans You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate Time Passages - Al Stewart You & Me - Alice Cooper Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me - Mac Davis |
