4 Non Blondes appreciation thread
Give it up for a group that should've put out more than 1 incredible album...

Well, I posted this once before about six months ago, but since it's one of my favorite stories, I'll post it again here. My sister knows Linda Perry and hangs out with her on occasion in SF. They went with some friends to a karaoke bar in the city. After some ribbing and persuasion, they got Linda to perform "What's Up" on karaoke. Nobody in the place noticed it was her singing it, or at least made any comment about it. I think it's kinda funny, yet kinda sad as well.
Glad she got some major (if brief) exposure on the AMAs this year. |
Well then you must have Pink's Missundastood in your collection. Linda Perry made alot of magic happen with that album. Pink covered What's Up during her live concerts last year also.
4NB did have a wonderful album, was a shame there weren't many more. |

I thought it was called 'What's Going On'?
No wait that's Marvin Gaye. |
linda perry definately deserves a lot of credit for her work on Pink's new album. An awesome album and the standout tracks were all written/co-written by Perry
|
Sorry. Never cared for that song or the way that she looked back then.
BTW, most of you may know that Linda Perry produced and wrote much of Christina Aguilera's Stipped album. |
I guess I'll disagree as well. That hit of theirs drove me NUTS when it was all over the radio. Dislike is too mild of a word. Working with Pink and Aguilera certainly doesn't make me wanna learn more about her.

If you want to hear Linda Perry at her best, buy her solo record. It was just great. I loved it from beginning to end. Check it out.

Originally posted by atlantamoi I guess I'll disagree as well. That hit of theirs drove me NUTS when it was all over the radio. I think Perry is supremely talented. Yes, Pink's 2nd album owes tons to Perry. LA Reid was going to drop Pink from his label if the album bombed because he was really against the concept. LA's a happy guy now... :) BTW, yes, Linda Perry's solo album is GREAT, if you're a fan of hers. |
Oooooooh, freaky. I was listening to "Superfly" when I saw this thread...
I think I was (am) the only person I knew (know) that actually liked that album. This thread also answers the question of why I actually liked Pink's Misunderstood (or however she spelled it). |
