Radiohead's 6th LP

It's going to be awesome. I've heard some of the new songs and they are amazing. Think The Bends, but darker. Think Talk Show Host. Radiohead calls it their "dark pop" album. I can't wait until it comes out. I've been listening non-stop to Radiohead for a week in anticipation of this album.

Nazgul 01-19-03 11:29 PM

When is it due out?

evenflow 01-19-03 11:53 PM

In June, I think.

fallow 01-20-03 08:17 AM

Man, you are going to be listening to Radiohead for a long time in anticipation for the new album! ;)

Franksta 01-20-03 09:05 AM

so are they going back to more guitar driven music? i was kinda enjoying their journey into abstract minimalist guitar music.

I don't mind listening the best band on the planet for like 5 months or whatever. They do have 3 masterpieces, 1 great album and 1 very good one out plus amazing b-sides. Heck, their b-sides are better than 99% of the album cuts by all the other bands.

grunter 01-20-03 10:57 AM

Ah, but will they tour?

I totally agree with that. I've been listening to the b-sides a lot lately and they really are great. They could make an incredible album just by putting like 12 of the b-sides on. The new album should rock.

I love Maquiladora. It's a great song. But my favorite B-Side has to be Talk Show Host. That song is SICK! Best B-Side ever.

Where I end and you begin

Awesome stuff.

They better, cause the 2001 Bull Run Park show in Virginia got cancelled at the 11th hour due to an insane monsoon/thunderstorm/flooding. They owe us Washingtonian's a show at the largest outdoor venue for cancelling TWO shows, that wasn't anyone fault (sans Mother Nature).

mtucker 01-21-03 11:57 AM

Is there a good reference for listing Radiohead's B-Sides and what "albums" they were released on?

The new defunct UK magazine SELECT did a great two part Radiohead article on all the singles and b-sides a couple of years back. Also check out www.amazon.co.uk Radiohead's listings and they list a number of b-side songs and their corresponding cd's. In the states, Tower (and Virgin Megastores) is a great place to actually purchase the discs, they continually seem to have them in stock.

So you're listening to the Deftones? ;)

I'm hearing good things about the new Radiohead album...which is good. I think it's time to show that they still know how to make guitar driven poppy music with a purpose, rather than delve once again into the depths of atmospheric compositions that lack structure and catchiness...
