Metal/Glam Rock bands that are all but forgotten?
I am listening to one of my homemade compilation CDs, and Kingdom Come's - Do You Like It is playing. It got me thinking of all the bands that were big in the late 80's early 90's for about 15 minutes (before Headbanger's Ball was cancelled), but would result in a "Who is that?" if they were mentioned today. Here are some others I can think of:
Britny Fox
Bang Tango
Kix
Danger Danger
Shotgun Messiah
Firehouse
Electric Boys
Gorky Park
What others? (I'm asking for the more obscure ones. Not like Warrant, Cinderella or Slaughter or bands like that).

Of this list, I really liked Firehouse... the singer had a great unique sound.
--Don't Treat Me Bad
--Love of a Lifetime
--When I Look into Your Eyes
--All She Wrote
--Reach for the Sky

I'll try and only list good bands here (although you get bonus points if you've actually heard of all these bands)
Aldo Nova
Babylon A.D.
Grim Reaper
Killer Dwarfs
Krokus
Lizzy Borden
Loudness
Saxon
Sleeze Beez
Trixter
White Lion
Surprisingly a few of these bands are still together, though you have to pay a lot of attention to even find their releases these days. Man I miss the days of good metal.

What do I win? I have at least one song by most of those you listed, but I've heard of all of them. Good list! Saxon (Power and the Glory!) has always been big in Europe. I don't think they really apply here.

Some more:
Arcade
Contraband
Warlock (Doro still does alright in Europe)
Enuff Z'Nuff
Fastway
Hanoi Rocks
Laaz Rockit
Leatherwolf
McAuley-Schenker Group
Riot
Saigon Kick
Steelheart
Vinnie Vincent Invasion
Virgin Steele
Y & T
If you want REALLY obscure try Grand Prix. I think I'm one of 5 people who've heard their album.

Another one is Wildside. Their CD, Under the Influence is still one of my favorites to this day.
I've never heard of Laaz Rockit or Grand Prix. In my head, I'm trying to go through that song American Hairband by Tuff to see if I can remember any other bands mentioned in it.

You've stumped me with Wildside and Thunder. Thunder sounds familiar but I can't place 'em. Somehow I left Bullet Boys off my list, I was actually thinking of them when i started to reply the first time.

Definatally look for some Wildside on Kazaa. It's all on there. Hang on Lucy was their "hit".
I had received both the Thunder and Wildside CDs as promos back when I used to work at Musicland. I had gotten rid of both, but recently re-acquired the Wildside CD off ebay after downloading it and realizing how much I missed it.
Thunder - Backstreet Symphony

MTV used to play the hell out of Aldo Nova's "monkey on your back" or whatever it was called.
Trixter- Total cheese.
We used to make fun of this slut I used to sit behind in Spanish class in high school because she wore a KIX t-shirt that said "dirty boys from the underground"
A friend of mine had a Grim Reaper cassette, and another one had a record by Killer Dwarfs.
I never owned any of those albums, but at one time I did own:
Dangerous Toys (first album)
Laaz Rocket- (Hey, they did a Dead Kennedy's cover!)

Loudness. I saw them in concert when I was a kid when I lived in Amarillo Texas. They are a Japanese metal band. The funniest concert I have ever been to:
"Hewwo Amawiwo. We are WOUDNESS!!!!!! Are you weady to wock and woooooooooollllllll????????"

We've all forgotten about Hurricane!! "I say na, na na na na na, I'm on to you!"
Faster Pussycat. (saw them open for Motley Crue on the Dr. Feelgood tour)
Death Angel - Act III (still an awesome CD!)

OK found it!! The U.S. cover for Thunder - Backstreet Symphony:
I knew that other cover wasn't what I had.
TRACKS:
1. She's So Fine (Morely/Taylor) - 5:30
2. Dirty Love (Morely) - 5:21
3. Don't Wait for Me (Morely) - 5:32
4. Higher Ground (Morely) - 5:06
5. Until My Dying Day (Morely/Taylor) - 6:32
6. Back Street Symphony (Morely) - 4:30
7. Love Walked In (Morely) - 6:25
8. Englishman on Holiday (Morely) - 4:27
9. Girl's Going Out of Her Head (Morely) - 4:18
10. Gimme Some Lovin' (cover song) (Davis/Winwood/Winwood) - 3:51
11. Distant Thunder (Morely) - 4:56
Bold ones are what I think were the "hits".
**I've got Aldo Nova - Fantasy playing right now.

Thats the band formed by UFO bassist Pete Way. They had some great music. One of their lead singers went on to Tyketto, another cool overlooked band.

Wow, these are some great bands listed here (with the possible exception of the Killer Dwarfs ).
Does anyone remember Hurricane? VH1 classic ran a video of theirs (song title escapes my rusty mind) and I was blown away, but I do not remember ever hearing them at all. If I had, I would have definitely purchased it. I have no idea when they came out, but from their look, I'd say late 80s (88-90 or so).
Edited because I just remembered Agent Steele did Skeptics Apocalypse, not Virgin Steele. Oops.
Still, the Virgin Steele releases are cool.

Ahhhhhhh - there.
That should end this thread real quick.
Mods - feel free to shutter this sad thread "homage" to stripey spandex, acid-wash jean jackets, teased mullets and strawberry wine coolers.
