Worst Single of the year 2002?

"Tell Me That I Love You" Justin Timberlake
"Sweetness" Jimmy Eat World
"I Stand Alone" Godsmack

demonio 01-14-03 02:32 PM

I'll tell ya a couple I could do without ever hearing again:

Good Charlotte - Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous (Kmart punk sucks)

Kelly Osbourne - Shut Up! (stick to getting your panties stuck up your ass and leave the singing to Daddy)

Eminem - Any song of his (This opportunity comes once in a lifetime yo........what the hell kind of a line is that?)

anything involving or containing the names Nickelback, Chad Kroeger, or Canada lmao

This past year has really caused me to lose faith in any form of mainstream music.

GuessWho 01-14-03 02:46 PM

A New Day Has Come - Celine Dion

Rogue588 01-14-03 02:47 PM

Oh. My. God.

Did I just hear someone say they didn't like Eminem??

Better watch it. Ya heard what they did to Moby, right? ;)

And as far as the new album & soundtrack go, I agree with you.

But, where the Good Charlotte song is concerned, from what lyrics I was able to make out, I like it. But not enough to buy it. Hell, not enough to even download it.

grunter 01-14-03 03:07 PM

Anything by Sum 41.

Or wait . . . was that a threadcrap?

DumDum 01-14-03 03:13 PM

I would have to agree on the Good Charlotte song. Total garbage

MJKTool 01-14-03 03:28 PM

Shut Up - Kelly Osbourne

RomperStomper 01-14-03 03:29 PM

Good Charolette suck ass. Eminem in talented as hell, I think he missuses his talent too much though.

As for the worst single of the year? I'd have to go with Nirvana You Know Your Right. don't get me wrong, I think its a kick ass song, and it should have been treated that way. Instead the media took the Greatest Hits album and Kurt's diary and everything else Nirvana related, and used them as tools to making money. This is exactly what Kurt Cobain would have never done, sold his work out.

El Scorcho 01-14-03 03:32 PM

Avril Lavigne - Sk8er Boi (for obvious reasons)

This and SR-71 are the only local bands that I have and finally sort of, they made it big.

Kelly Osborne - (tie) Papa Don't Preach and Shut Up. No comment necessary.

Jimmy Eat World - She Hates Me. A novelty song that got old waaaaaaay too quick.

Eminem - Cleaning Out My Closet. A good song, but not a good single. When I first heard this song, I thought it was powerful and personal. Hearing it as a single, it's just another attempt to cash in on his troubled youth. Hearing it over and over again on the radio removes the impact it has on the album.

Justin Timberlake - whatever the hell it's called. Please go away.

That song with some useless rapper and Bobby Brown. Ug.

The Catsup Song. Thankfully, this never caught on.

Nope, that was Puddle of Mudd with "She F**kin Hates Me."

Todd Gaines 01-14-03 04:04 PM

Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Zephyr Song" I generally like them, but they play this every 5 minutes on the radio and THE SONG SUCKS!!!!!!!!

Ralph Wiggum 01-14-03 08:26 PM

Kelly Osbourne's singles have been astoundingly bad.

Frank TJ Mackey 01-14-03 09:26 PM

Sk8er Boi by Avril Lavigne

the aftermath 01-14-03 11:48 PM

Anything by:
Avril Lavigne
Good Charlotte
Kelly Osbourne

custom001 01-15-03 04:06 AM

Jello "Jenny from the block"

by far!

Canis Firebrand 01-15-03 07:19 AM

Hmm...

- Anything by Eminem..
- Metro (old Berlin song) redone by System of a Down.. And actually anything by System of a Down.
- Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous - Good Charlotte
- Kelly Osbourne
- And anything by Jimmy Eat World.

Those are the ones that stand out in my mind.

Penny Lane 01-15-03 08:02 AM

I don't know the name of it, but it comes on when I'm at the gym. It has some primitive sounding beat, and some guy saying/singing some unintelligible line over it... IT sounds like he's saying "Just gimme the line. Just gimme the line ...........????

Horrible. Makes me angry that people are allowed to record crap like that.

SpaceBoy 01-15-03 12:21 PM

I gotta agree with most the choices, my personal dislikes are

1. Nelly Hot in Here, h@ll that nike shoe one too, but think that just came out, so for now it holds #1 of 2003 :)
2. That SpiderMan song by NickelBack (how many times must I hear this)
3. SKater Boy song or whatever. Terrible, just terrible
4. Work It, by Missy Elliott Tragic.
5. Eminem song off 8 mile soundtrack I guess..

Mr. Cinema 01-15-03 02:01 PM

Any "new" punk songs. I despise Good Charlotte and Sum 41. Kelly Osbourne's fat ass doesn't deserve any chance at a singing career. I love Eminem's stuff.

Avril Lavigne sucks!!!! She's Britney with a guitar.

I hate Jimmy Eat World. You Know You're Right by the band formerly known as Nirvana. I'm sorry, but Dave Groehl is and will always be 100% more talented than Kurt Cobain ever thought about being.
