bands where all of their songs sound sort of the same (be responsible with this one)

The Ramones (sorry, they do.)

Most rap/hip-hop made in the last few years sounds like one long endless drone.

Most country music made in the last decade sounds like one of four songs: the fast dance number, the ballad, the novelty song, and the song sung by some chick. They're all completely interchangible.

Gin Blossoms

MJKTool 12-29-02 09:18 PM

Rage Against the Machine. The new audioslave album, the music is just your typical rage, paint-by-numbers style. Insert Tom's crazy, whacky solo with a drill bit, insert Crommerfield's bass lines that exactly follow the drummer. It's just the lyrics are different. What's funny is the only Rage album that's good, like an actual progression in music, was their album of covers, Renegade (which is their best album, bar none).

cdollaz 12-30-02 09:32 AM

INXS

cineman 12-30-02 10:30 AM

AC/DC

(I still love 'em)

Funker Vogt.
They're great, but I finally decided to pass on album #5.

Dubya 12-30-02 11:45 AM

Korn
Creed
Ramones
AC/DC

I maintain that there was only ONE REGGAE SONG ever written.

Talk about mind-numbing repetition.

Ugh.

Your favorite band.

All their songs sound the same, and they all suck.

:p

Lateralus 12-30-02 02:16 PM

Creed
Def Leppard
AC/DC
Korn
Kiss

Not that there is anything wrong with any of these groups, I just think all their stuff sounds the same.

Da Thrilla 12-30-02 02:32 PM

:yack: Creed

Josh-da-man 12-30-02 02:47 PM

AC/DC (I love'em too, but you only really need "Back In Black" and "Highway to Hell")
Rob Zombie/White Zombie

The Bus 12-30-02 02:54 PM

The Ramones (and any other punk...*ducks* ;))

Don't be. I love the Ramones, but all their songs DO sound the same. The same can be said of a lot of punk.

To me all of Green Day's songs sound the same. As do all of Dave Matthews Band's songs.

As much as I like New Order, most of their songs all sound the same.

My list, whether I like them or not:
Iggy Pop (mostly)
Alanis Morrissette
Enya
Loreena McKennitt
Sarah McLachlan
Sting (by himself)
The Cars
Sisters of Mercy (insert goth band with deep voiced leading dude
here, actually)
Erasure
B52's
AC/DC

I'd think of more, but this dang migraine's killing me.

I challenge YOU to write something other than that one reggae song when you're sucking on a five paper joint. :D

 Wow good list! I own a lot of single albums of the above mentioned groups, but not nearly enough to compare multiple albums.

And one more to add to my list just to annoy MJKTool.

Tool albums sound the same.
