They had the countdown last weekend, and all uncut (well not lyrics,) except for the last ten since they had artists coming out and saying why they liked the video. Also Timberlake/MJ Jr and the other vj's were the hosts for the last ten videos.
I checked and MTv isn't running the special in the near future, so if you want me to send you a copy (I taped it). Only problem most of the "good" videos did not make the cut?? And the quality of the tape isn't that good.

You sure, the video looks more like that they used legos and they used a stop motion techneque. The only cgi is the lead singers face (or its actually pixils, not cgi)
Plus mtv forgot about the great "Objection (Tengo) video. The video has a cameo from Adam Boch (the guy who played the black ranger on the first Power Rangers spinoff, and sometimes he does Buffy apperences.) They mentioned on a Pop Up Video special that the little guitar solo in the song (the part in the video where she does that little robot move thing). I know its a Depeche Mode song but I don't remeber what the song is called.

Yeah, and I liked the Lord of the Rings movie until I found out they didn't use a real Balrog.

What difference does it make?

Sometimes the CGI looks really phony and not realisitic, and sometimes it does. I guess Guesswho thinks the cgi wasn't realistic enough or he became upset when they didn't use real legos. Am I right.

The difference is in the fact that since i played with Legos as a kid, 90% of my admiration for the video was due to me imagining the makers building every frame from Lego... adding pieces, removing pieces, and picturing how log that took and the intense work involved.

If it was just some fat PC geek drawing it, then it's just another effect.

According to the puv special, it took like 2 or 3 months to make that video. would doing a cgi video take around the same time?

Best -
Nas - 1 mic (I think that was this year...)
Scarface - My block
Nappy Roots - Po folks (a great video + song compared to that **** Master P and the likes put out...)

Worst -
