Coldplay touring the U.S. Get your tix.
I'm about ready to purchase some tickets for the 2/9 show in Phoenix, AZ. I think this is their first large scale show in the U.S. They have tour dates on their website at www.coldplay.com. I can't wait to see this band live.

What's your definition of large scale show?
Their Parachutes tour played small venues, the Rush of Blood pre-tour played equally small venues, but their regular tour played some pretty big ones, although not football stadiums. Edited to add: Looks like this is the West Coast leg of the tour they did here in October. Saw them in Baltimore and it was an A+ show. |
Here on the east coast, it looks like their appearences are only Radio "Holiday" shows with various other bands. Got my tix to see them here in DC at the MCI center, general admission, gonna rush to the stage once they hit the stage. Should be a cool show with "Queens of the Stone Age", "The Vines", "Zwan" and others.
I agree the Baltimore show was great, really liked the rear triptych screen projection. The audience was a slightly lifeless, at the DC 9:30 show and the Philadelphia show that was eventually shown on HBO, the sing along to "Everything's Not Lost" was fantastic. |
I meant to say large scale tour since they've never come to Phoenix, AZ :).
Ticketmaster sucks. I bought tix online and said it was the best seat available. Checked again, and they had better seats. |
I'll be at the Charlotte show.
|
They're not playing CA or OR???!!!! That sucks
|
they are playing Bimbo's for an alice in wonderland show. Radio station thingy and all tix are only available to those who win them by being the 10th caller or whatever.
|
No where near Indiana :(

I am really pissed that I am going to miss their show in St. Louis in February - the wife and I are going to be on our belated honeymoon. She's disappointed, too, maybe she will make it up to me. :)

|
So I can maybe get 2 tickets to the show at bimbo's for about 200 a piece, any thoughts, it's invitation only, and holds 550 people.....

Richard Ashcroft, the former lead singer of The Verve, is opening for Coldplay. That should be cool.
Even the venues that aren't small like arenas etc. are cut into a 1/4 or something with curtains for a more intimate setting with the band. I saw them in Chicago in September and they were great. |
Got tickets for Austin!
|
Saw them last night here in The Ham.
They were great! The lead singer (sorry...I don't know their individual names) was very energetic and the music was top notch. They have a very impressive light show with the concert as well. They seemed pretty excited and the crowd was very enthusiastic. They played for about and hour and a half. They also played 2 new songs that are not on their current albums. A guy named Ron Sexsmith opened for them. Very good opener and had a Jackson Browne, '70s-ish type sound. Never heard of him but was pleasantly surprised. |
Austin show was excellent!
|
Cannot wait til' March 9th!
|
Fantastic show in OKC last night. Very impressed with everything. Good mix of songs from both their albums, plus three new songs. Excellent, excellent show.
|
I'm going to the 3-16 show in Minneapolis.

Great show tonight here in Phoenix, although marred by two lunkheaded guys and the row they were in. This entire row had at least 2 people get up every two songs or so and get beer. They were yapping their asses off as well. The two lunkheads were doing the devil sign thing each song relentlessly. After that they decided to throw their empty beer cups into the crowd. They then threw a cup of ice out during yellow. These were grown men. I'm reminded everyday why I believe in my signature so much. I'm so tired of people.
On to the band. They were excellent and in good spirits. They played a b-side "One I Love" and two new tracks "Moses" and "Ladder to the Sun". They closed with the latter which was excellent. They started out with "Politik" as I had predicted. The encore included "In My Place" and "Clocks". Great show and a great light show too. I just wish I had seen it with a better behaved audience. Adios. |
Saw them in Columbus Sunday night. Great show. Even the people who paid $100+ on Ebay for tiks got their moneys worth. The band sounded great, and looked to be having a lot of fun on stage.
