Today's CDs (9/19)
The Disco Biscuits - Senor Boombox
Tin Hat Trio - The Rodeo Eroded The Gourds - Cow Fish Fowl or Pig Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head moe. - Warts & All Volume 2 The new Coldplay and Disco Biscuits discs are surprisingly great. I didn't care much for Coldplay's first disc. There wasn't much not to like; it was just a bit too bland. Their new disc is such a huge step forward...few bands make such a huge leap from their debut to their sophomore album. The Disco Biscuits are a great live band, but this is their first great studio album. It sounds like a mix tape full of great songs you've never heard before. Songs are all over the place...for instance, track 1 is jammy rock, track 2 is live house, and track 3's got a bit of a hip hop feel. For anyone who knows who Bran Van 3000 are, Senor Boombox reminds me of a jam band Bran Van album. Good stuff... |
Bebel Gilberto - Tanto Tempo (I keep thinking I should return this to the library, but it's such great background music for work)
Bruce Springsteen - The Rising U2 - ATYCLB Neil Young - Silver & Gold Old 97s - Fight Songs |
Erase Eratta - Other Animals
Rocket from the Crypt - Group Sounds RFTC - Scream, Dracula, Scream RFTC - All Systems Go RFTC - Circa: Now RFTC - Live from Camp X-Ray The Action - Rolled Gold Oneida - Each One Teach One Oneida - Come On Everybody Let's Rock Oneida - Anthem on the Moon So, as you might guess, I'm working on Oneida and RFTC pieces today. Each of their new albums are excellent. As far as Coldplay is concerned, "Trouble" is a wonderful song. Everything else is as inoffensive as music can get. Which is not a good thing. |

Originally posted by Starlover What do you think of this? How does it rate with their other stuff. The first disc of Sci-fi Lullabies may be my favorite thing by them, although their first 2 records were killer. So far my favourite track is Obsessions. I think that if you enjoy disc 1 of sci-fi like I do, thats what was in the car today, you will really like this... its released in the uk on sept 30... I advise a purchase. |
