MP3 question

ok..if I have an MP3 that I downloaded and is 128kbs, if I resave it as 192 or 320 will it uncompress it and improve the quality? Or will it not matter? Will it have to had been saved straight from the CD at 320 or 192??

Hopefully someone can help me and I dont sound too ignorant.

Thanx..

Nope the quality is as good as it can get in general. It's like taping a CD and then copying the tape back onto the CD. It will be a CD playing tape-quality music. (of course I could be completely wrong but i think that's the way it goes.)

I wondered the same thing myself.

If you want it at 192 or whatever, you need to rip it from CD at that bitrate. Whatever bitrate you rip it at, you can only make the resulting file quality worse... not better.

In other words, you can't make something out of nothing.
