<ol><li>A thread doesn't <i>disappear</i> when unstickied.<li>It is a simple matter for the originator to link to earlier threads in the latest.<li>If people haven't read or bookmarked the older thread after 7 or 8 weeks....<li>I'm not happy with there being two concurrent sticky threads of this kind (and when, some time ago, I asked Jim as to the optimum date for swapping over IIRC he said 24/25 of the second month).</li></ol>;) QED.
