Hope Sandoval's Tour

Anyone as excited as me about this tour? I never had the oppurtunity to see Mazzy Star live, so this is as close as I may get. Got tickets for the Philly show at the TLA. Anyone else going to the shows?

I don't know if I could stay awake during one whole show of hers, but she makes me with that voice and that sultry look about her.

I saw Norah Jones on Leno yesterday and couldn't help think just a bit about Ms. Sandoval's velvet pipes.

I've been thinking about going to see her at the Great American Music Hall, but I really hate tuesday night shows, they screw up my whole week.

Now, if this was a Rain Parade reunion show I'd be there in a heartbeat.

I saw Mazzy Star in Chicago during their first album tour, forget the name of it. Good show but man, too mellow. Saw them a second time at the double door, a better show, what was really cool was that Jim or was it William Reid, of Jesus and Mary Chain were also there hanging at the bar cuz of course Hope and Jim/Wil were dating at the time.

Her newer music is a little more dreamy than the Mazzy Star stuff used to be. Strikingly similar though more acoustic. I like it. It's great music to just sit and ponder by...

Boston, at least on a Friday, is not close enough for me to get there.

The real question is why she wouldn't stop in Montreal between Toronto and Beantown. Of course, I realize that lots of acts do the exact same thing.

I wish I could. I'm probably going to take a half day or more to see Low and Mark Eitzel play on October 8th, if you're interested. Let me know.
