what songs do you like to hear when cruising (driving)?

Let's just face it, some songs are better than others when cruising around in your car in the summertime. You know...the songs that you play really loud and get you a-singing. We all have different tastes....so list some of your favorites here.

Me....(in no particular order)

La Grange - ZZ Top
Boys of Summer - Don Henley
Thunderkiss 65 - White Zombie
Ruff Ryders - DMX
Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
Paradise City - Guns and Roses
Photograph - DefLeppard (ala Guesswho)
Summertime (of course) - Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince
Home Alone - Keith Murray, R. Kelly
Whatever - Godsmack
Tiny Dancer - Elton John
'N Together Now - Limp Bizkit, Method Man
Stealers Wheel - Stuck in the Middle with you
Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots
Clint Eastwood - Gorillaz
Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta - Geto Boys
Old Time Rock and Roll - Bob Seger

If we are taking a longish drive we will sometimes do a theme.

Like an all Bob Marley, Clash, or Talking Heads marathon.

For some reason I really like to listen to ZZ Top during the summertime. I have an MP3 player in my truck, so it's easy to burn a mix of songs that I like.

I liked this one till I was in a car that wrapped around a telephone pole while this song was playing. Sometimes it sucks how you associate songs with events.

For me, I seem to listen to a lot of RHCP in the summer. Listened to Blood Sugar Sex Magic on the way to work this morning.

Too many times I have that song playing only to see the speedometer pushing past 80!

It varies for me, I usually listen to the radio, or cds for short trips.

But, if its long trips, I have to have music that I know the words to. For some reason, when I sing the words, it helps me stay awake and focused for driving. I guess because it keeps your mind active.

Also, lots of edgier/harder/techno music helps. The softer songs just lull me to sleep.

Another vote for Joe Satriani:

In this case Can't Slow Down (come on...with a lyric like "I just can't slow down....drivin' to the sound"). In fact, anything off the album Flying in a Blue Dream. Premium driving stuff...

But I suppose it depends on my mood at the time.

When I'm in the states I like to listen to

Bruce Hornsby and the Range - The Way it is
Wilson Phillips
Marc Cohn

When I'm at home I like to listen to mainly dance/techno stuff.
