Touring Band 2000 -- Pearl Jam
The Video quality is not all that great...but the sound... Play it Loud! |
U2 Elevation Tour - Amazing concert with great audio and video
Nine Inch Nails All That Could Have Been - Again, great performance with great Audio/Video |
I recently bought Queen: We Will Rock you DTS and The Corrs: Live in London with DTS option too and they're both great discs.
Also have Journey: 2001 which is surprisingly good even though it's no longer Perry on the mic. And I also have Bon Jovi:the Crush tour. That one's awesome too. |
Discussion on concert DVDs belongs in Music Talk. You might want to do a search in there, because this thread sounds familiar.
Moving thread. |
I'll second Nine Inch Nails...and All that Could Have Been. The sound is just incredible. Others to look at:
Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense - one of the best rock movies ever made and a great DVD edition The Last Waltz - Sounds and looks incredible for a low-budget 70s film Widespread Panic: Live at Oak Mountain - The 5.1 is just great on this one. I've seen them live a bunch of times, and they sound nearly as good in my living room. |
Fleetwood Mac "The Dance"
ELO "Zoom" ELton John "Live - One Night Only" James Taylor "Live At The Beacon" Metallica "Cunning Stunts" Eurythmics "peacetour" Steve Hackett "Tokyo Tapes" |
No collection is complete without Stevie Ray Vaughan - Live at the El Mocombo. Best...concert...ever
|
Uh... the Eagles? Anyway, Last Waltz is the obvious choice. Just got it as a gift although I haven't watched it yet. I have seen the film. Excellent, even though I'm indifferent about The Band. But what do you expect? It's Scorsese

It's really annoying when my taste in music made me decide to buy a region free player.
In my collection: ASH: "Tokyo Blitz" STEREOPHONICS: "Live at Cardiff Castle" "Morfa Stadium" (I was there :D) MANIC STREET PREACHERS: "Live in Cuba" "Cardiff Millennium Stadium" NEW ORDER: "316" ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN: "Live in Liverpool" JAMES: "Getting Away it With It....Live" (Forthcoming) MUSE: "Hullabaloo" |

Morrissey - Live in Dallas on DVD would rock too!

The Band (and lotsa other artists) - "The Last Waltz"
The Who - "Maximum R & B Live" (if you can find it) and "Live at the Isle of Wight" And Bjork has a few concert DVD's, I'd recommend "Live at Cambridge". |
I second
Metallica - Cunning Stunts Bon Jovi - The Crush tour |
Roger Waters - In The Flesh - just plain awesome
A-ha - Live At Valhall - the best live DVD you didn't know about Rammstein - Live Aus Berlin - turn off the lights for this pyrotechnic blowout |

The Paris Concert for Amnesty International
It has DTS Performers include: Robert Plant & Jimmy Page Peter Gabriel Bruce Springsteen Radiohead (who do an insane Paranoid Android) and more A review of the disc: http://www.thedigitalbits.com/review...rtamnesty.html I agree with the review all the way, except that it doesn't mention the DTS track at all. I don't know why, as my copy has one - and it rocks. |
Some that may not have been mentioned and have excellent (performance/video/audio) quality:
Bad Company: Merchants of Cool John Fogerty: Premonition Peter Frampton: Live in Detroit Steely Dan: Two Against Nature Deep Purple: Come Hell or High Water ELP: Live at Royal Albert Hall Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime Scorpions: Moment of Glory Styx: Return to Paradise Three Dog Night: Live with the Tennessee Orchestra (DTS) Uriah Heep: Magician's Birthday Party Yes: House of Yes |
