With the Beatles was the UK release of the Beatles first LP and in the States it was released as Meet the Beatles(bought it at Korvettes-remember that store) and I Want To Hold Your Hand was on that Lp -don't remember if it was the first song -however.

Men At Work's Business As Usual.

I don't remember exactly, but it was Gladys Knight and the Pips--not one with Midnight Train to Georgia either. Not sure what I was thinking.

I believe it was the theme from Star Trek on "Spaced Out Disco".

First LP: Led Zeppelin "Houses of the Holy" (gift from aunt on my 5th or 6th birthday...I thought the naked girls climbing up the rocks on the front cover were hilarious)

First song: "The Song Remains the Same"

Ah, memories... I was in 3rd grade and the very first LP I ever bought for myself with my own (allowance) money was...

Destroyer by KISS. That would make Detroit Rock City the first song on the LP.

I owned a few records (Elton John, Beatles) that my parents and family had given me but that was my first purchase... Man, I must have saved for weeks to get that album now that I think about it.

Queen's The Game on vinyl - the week it was released.

I got it for Another One Bites the Dust. And since the rest of the album is so great - almost 23 years later, I still love it.

I believe it was Star Wars - Empire Strikes Back. :D

I can't really remember back that far.

Girls On Film - Duran Duran

I really cannot recall my first album purchase. I tended to buy mid-price back-catalogue material in the main, as I didn't have much cash then! At last I didn't have to duplicate too many titles when I got a half-decent hi-fi and started buying CDs....

.... most of the vinyl I ever bought was either hard rock or New Wave: it may have been Tarot Woman from Rainbow Rising - so absolutely no regrets there!

I was in 2nd grade and my dad bought for me "Revolver" 'cause I was buggin' him for a Beatles album. Unfortunately, it was the lame American version that left off "I'm Only Sleeping", "Doctor Robert", and "And Your Bird Can Sing". Thus was the beginning of my love affair with music. And after about 25 years, I've still got that album. It's one of my most prized possessions and I've got it sealed up.

On a more downbeat note, my second album was Beach Boys "Pet Sounds", and I have no idea what's become of it... :(

Well let's see.....

That would be Faster Than the Speed of Life on the Steppenwolf the Second album.

My first LP purchase was Family Man by Black Flag. It's a spoken word/instrumental album with the title track being the first.
