Couple of live moe. shows... That's it. I don't dig the quality too much on MP3s and I'm really only interested in live recordings. I still buy the studio releases from the bands that I'm into. However, I am starting to download, convert and burn some shn files when I run across them...

Learn more about shn files here... http://etree.org/

Close to 3,000 taking up 12gigs.

I've stopped collecting them though, and haven't downloaded/made more than a handful in the last 2 years.

About 20...

I think they're pretty worthless on the PC, so when I build up enough running time, I burn to CD... then delete from PC.

it would be better to put 10 or so mp3 albums on one cd and then use a mp3 cd player. or a mp3 player with a harddrive and put a couple 100 albums on it.

now your audio cds can't be converted back to mp3 without considerable loss of quality (again).

All ripped at 320kbps from my personal collection. I usually don't download mp3s.

I bought a harddrive so that I could always pull up any song I own at a moments notice, so I have all my albums ripped.

Right now that is 7040 songs.

Well in the Excel spreadsheet i have 14215 listed (1173 full albums)... i have another 3 CDs worth not archived yet... that's around 300, then i've got around 1235 sitting on the HD waiting to be burned.

So a little under 16000 i guess. And to think I've only downloaded at most 100 in the past 6 months.

Just for stupidities sake I ran the numbers on my Excel list to see some time stats. Those 14215 songs (63.6 Gigs) could run continuously without repeating for 63,796 minutes (1063.3 hours or 44.3 days). Yeah I was a little obsessive.

I have no clue.
Back when Napster went down (The first time), I threw all my MP3s alphabetically onto CD-RWs, and now I update them with every new MP3 I get.
Right now I have 30 CD-RWs with about 120-200 MP3s on each.

1400, all downloaded for the most part. songs from bands that have terrible albums but one or 2 good songs, and a lot of live material.

how do you folks find time to rip all your CD's, I can't even find time to back up the 1400 MP3's I have.

I used to keep mine on CD's, but then I started listening more and more, and eventually I bought a Rio Volt CD Mp3 Player, so I keep them on the HDD so I can smoke off RW's full of albums at a moments notice. That way I don't have to wait for them to copy back off of CD, etc. etc.

Between my roomate and I we have about 150GB of MP3s online. Then we have somewhere between 300-400 CDrs with stuff backed up.

Some day we'll listen to them all I guess.
