New EMINEM Album leaked....

Don't ask me where or how I found out about this, but a good friend of mine got the new EMINEM CD today (called "The Eminem Show") and it sounds pretty amazing.

When was this album supposed to come out anyways? Seems like this leaked way early.

I'm not a rap fan, but I enjoy Eminem. Anyway, I think I heard on MTV that it was supposed to come out in June or July some time.

I'm always amaxed at these music "leaks." Anyone who has ever spent time in a recording studio (as I have, but just as a visitor) should know that it is very hard to just grab a song, much less the entire cd, and walk out with it.

In most cases, the masters that the songs were recorded on are in locked cases (mostly to prevent damage from magnetic sources) until they arrive at a mass production plant.

These aren't really leaks, but just the artist throwing something outthere to see if the public will like or hate the new stuff.

No disrespect to you, Mike_AA, I know you are just reporting it the way you heard it.

leaks occur because the record companies have to print up promo cds in advance to send out to all the music magazines for reviews. and most magazines have to be finished a month before it ships so there is time to print it up and ship it everywhere. so often 2 months in advance the cd will be sent out to places. and that is just 1 of the many ways to get a cd early.

i don't think this new cd is out yet. sounds like your friend has the sampler cd which came out 2 months ago.

This is likely the case. I have downloaded a number of complete albums months in advance that have changed upon release. Most of the time it is just the track order switched around though.

I agree about the promo stuff. I actually have the new Tommy Lee/Methods of mayhem promo cd which I've had for the last month and I don't know when the cd is scheduled for release.

But, and I'm sure the story was posted here somewhere, some radio dj's somewhere played the entire upcoming release by some alt. group even though a different station had an exclusive to the initial airing. The dj's were able to DL the songs from the web, and now the Label is trying to find where the songs come from.

Doesn't sound like a promo release to me.

you think the album might stink, but others may like it...if you had some valid reasons why you feel this way it might help support your claim

adding: i havent heard it, but then again i'm not much of an eminem fan anyways

Can tell if he or The Strokes will be headlining this year's HFS'Tival but one could assume some of the new material will be performed.

I'd be interested to see if these tracks you have are actually from THE EMINEM SHOW...because I've read that this album is being called "the most protected album ever" with NO press copies until release date, no copies at the record company...just the master, locked in a safe, until they do a production run, then those are also getting locked up until the ship date... i've seen lots of places claiming to have eminem show tracks, when really, they are either the sampler, or earlier tracks, the less heard stuff, they are trying to pass off as new... I can't wait for June 4.

The first 2 million domestic copies (and over 1 million international copies) of Eminem's new CD will include a limited-edition DVD featuring exclusive never-before-seen footage including interviews, live performances and behind the scenes footage as well as a trailer for his upcoming film. The CD is scheduled for release June 4.

See the press release here.

According to the release, the lyrics will also be printed on the CD booklet for the first time on an Eminem album, FWIW.

The album leaked on the net are just the hooks looped over and over.

Other artists including Sheryl Crow and newcomer Vanessa Carlton are also doing this.

it's a huge waste of time.

Don't believe anyone saying they have the actual album until you see proof.

"This sucks" or "Eminem fell off" doesn't mean sh**.

So very true. Like the "epside II soundtrack LEAK" my arse. in all honesty, nothing is "leaked" in the music buisness. advance promo's of the stuff is always floating around. this is just one of those events where the promo was thrown online. regardless.. Anyone have the track list.

here is a track list I found. It may be bogus. I also hear that the CD release in the UK is April 29th.

I got this from rmhh, could be fake though:

1. PSA (Its an alright beginning...conventional like the first two
lps)
2. Soldier (Straight gutter type......gets down and personal)
3. Without Me (First single....remiscient of the other 2 singles...)
4. White America(Hot production by Em.....gonna turn heads)
5. Steve Berman skit (typical skit but with a twist)
6. Straight Up(Tight lyrics....Dre beat)
7. Trailer Park Girls(Has to be the tightest song on album..)
8. Kids in the Hall(Production by Dre...reminiscient of Aint nuttin
but)
9. Detroit, Detriot(Song with D12....production by Em...tight)
10. Failure(Slow in beginning...like Marshal Mathers...then gets
nasty....Em
production)
11. The Return f/Nate Dogg(Nate Dogg kills on this track...Dre
production)
12. Ken Kaniff(THis is more outrageous than the first two
combined...kinda of a
surprise on this one)
13. I Get It Started(OH YEah....sweet Dina Rae track....feel this)
14. Truth About Me(deep track....smooth beat...reminiscent of Rock
Bottom.....deeper and meaner souding than Way I Am)
15. My Testimony f/Obe Trice(flows back and forth.....tight beat)
16. Kim 3(Big surprise on this one.....ur going to poop ur pants on
this one)
17. New World Order(I thought this was going to be the one with Fred
Durst but
it isn't....tight song....Em producton at its best)
18. Paul skit(fits right into.......next song)
19. We Hate Our Label...(Nothing to do with title...outrageous
song....too many
incredible rhymes)
