Anything by Stevie Ray Vaughan (Little Wing, Texas Flood, Say What, Tin Pan Alley, Lenny all come to mind)

Hide Away - Freddie King

Thrill Is Gone - BB King

Best "Air Guitar" song (Wayne's World Inspired)

So what is the first song people think of or really get into with regards to their "Air Guitar"

My "first" thought and one that always has me going when I hear it is:

Crazy Train - Ozzy

PS: I am a guitar player (not that it matters, just thowing that out)

I too am a guitar player, and I'd nominate any Sabbath song. They're fun to play, real guitar or air guitar.

I'd throw in some Who also, just so I can do some windmills...

(And what do those two bands have in common? Pete Townshend and Tony Iommi both play a Gibson SG, inspiring me to do likewise)

"Eruption"? No, I don't think that's the right answer. Hell, that's not even the best Van Halen "air guitar" song.

Sheesh. You put up a smarmy answer and people act like you just clubbed a baby seal.

Settle down, Beavis. It's just air guitar.

Cool out, Butt-Head. It was just a reply to the aforementioned smarmy answer. We're all friends here... (But please don't hurt the baby seals!)

What a cool topic! I thought I was the only crazy one who does the "wincy, pretending like I'm also playing the guitar" expression to songs. Anyway I've been doing alot lately and these are my favorite riffs that bring out the feelng in me every time:

1-U2 - Until the End of the World - Edge's solo on that track kicks so much ass it should illegal!! That was the song that made say "Yeah, The Edge is the greatest guitarist on the freakin planet!!"

2-U2 - Dancing Barefoot. Another song boosted to kick ass status because of the Edge's riff. Can this guy do wrong?

3-U2 - The Fly. Not only am I wincing and fingering the strings but I also wiggle me head real fast to this one Classic!

3-U2 - Bullet the Blue Sky(live version). Good grief! "Outside it's America!!...Outside it's America!!"...enter the Edge's long kickass riff..."Into the arms...of America!" Makes me wanna pop it in the player just thinking about it.

4-U2 - Exit. Towards the end when he really lets it go while Larry's beating the **** outta those cymbals. Awesome

Phuggit...The Edge kicks ass on ALL of their tracks!
