I'll be picking up the new Trail of Dead album later today. I may end up seeing them live next month - I've heard good things about their live show.

Elvis Costello - "This Year's Model" bonus disc
Wilco - "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot"
Kerosene 454 - "At Zero"

They are a great live band.

You hear that Bluetip split? Always the inferior Kerosene. But they played every show together. Jim told me they had played something like 230 shows together.

what style of music would trail of dead be? What are they like? I guess, more importantly, what is the link for Flak?

Trail of Dead are really raucous post-punk. Heavy Sonic Youth vibe, but much more manic. My review will probably go up tomorrow, just submitted it to the editor earlier today. But flak is: FlakMag.com

I think this record could have a pretty wide appeal. It's melodic, but it's hidden under layers of guitars. But there are also strings, pianos, etc. A really ambitious album that achieves its goals.

That last paragraph was the Cliff Notes version of my review.

I've seen both Kerosene 454 and Bluetip, but never together. Even though I enjoy some of Bluetip's material (haven't heard that split), Kerosene 454 blows them away. I wish K454 was still around - Oswego does nothing for me.

I picked up "Source Tags and Codes" for $9.99 this afternoon. I'm only up to track 6, but I love what I hear so far.
