I had this friend who knew this guy at school back in the day:

Who, one night, was with a friend. They got a gun...started fooling around with it. That guy shot himself in the head and died instantly

He was about 15 and into drugs...I think he had the mental capacity of a 10 year old, actually.

My friend was like a helper at this school and helped this guy with different things around and about....his classwork, guidance, etc...

My friend went to his funeral and that song Knockin' on Heaven's Door was played...along with other hard rock music....

I never would have thought that would happen....don't ask why.

Gave Up - Nine Inch Nails

I agree that The Dance - Garth Brooks would be a good one.

My dad wants us to play God Only Knows by the Beach Boys at his funeral. I wouldn't mind the same thing, actually.

What is Many Rivers to Cross ... that sounds like the song they play on "Rock Star", but maybe I'm wrong. The words sound familiar though.

And twikoff, Indifference -- though it's a goodie -- is kind of a downer man --- I'm sure people won't be indifferent at your funeral!

God Only Knows is a wonderful choice. And Many Rivers to Cross is a Jimmy Cliff song. Pick up the Harder They Come soundtrack. Excellent.

My top choice, without question, is "Waterloo Sunset" by the Kinks.

I will be dead and thereby don't care. My family can play whatever they will enjoy. Hope this helps.
