This week's open letter to an artist: Britney Spears

... ah hell, who am I kidding. Just hurry up and pose for Playboy already. Don't wait until your career is all but gone like Tiffany and Belinda Carlisle have done. And if you *do* wait until then, that's fine. But take the pictures now at least. Nobody wants to see 40 year old Britney naked -- they want to see 21 year old Britney naked.
Oh, and could you please CC: this letter to Jessica Simpson as well? Thanks, Brit -- you're a peach!

How does this belong in music talk?
2. It is an indirect commentary about how a pop artist really has no musical substance but is more or less eye-candy.
3. It goes in line with the previous 4 "open letters" that I have published here.
4. A very similar thread (Tiffany posing nude in playboy) was moved into this forum.
So I'll see your "" and raise you two more:

Actually, it should be Britney Spears = BS
And I disagree about Belinda's career being over.
The Go-Go's latest album might not have been a
big seller like their first three albums in the 80's,
but it was an *amazing* album just the same.
And one that knocked the critics and their fans
for a loop because no one expected a product
that good from them at this stage. It even made
a few critic's 10 Best year end list. And they
toured extensively and were on TV quite a bit
to support it as well. That said, I'd hardly put
Belinda in the same sentence as Tiffany! Not
to mention Belinda has never looked better.
