Any musical theatre fans?

I was listening to the 2000 Off-Broadway cast recording of Godspell this morning and wondered if I was the only one who listened to musicals regularly.

just the other day I listened to the Broadway recording of "The Who's Tommy" - had seen the show twice, loved it, it's coming back to DC in March, cant wait.

Been meaning to see "Urinetown" which has been getting rave reviews.

I saw Tommy just after it opened in NY with the original cast and loved it. Michael Cerveris is just an amazingly strong presence on stage. I then ended up seeing him do Titanic (not a great show but not quite as heinous as many people thought it) and Hedwig and The Angry Inch, in which he was phenomenal.

I haven't seen Urinetown yet, but I've listened to it a bit and like what I've heard. Friends who caught it really enjoyed it, although they say you should avoid the mezzanine seating. Apparently, it's horribly uncomfortable.

Ah, did a search for Urinetown and found this thread, which I'm sorry is so sparce.

I like quite a bit of musical theater, which I'm ashamed of at times. I'm typically more interested in straight theater or dance, but I do have my guilty pleasures.

Urinetown is fabulous! Buy the album if you just want to have a funny, creative musical.

Others that I love: Children of Eden, Assassins, Godspell, Pippen, Rent, Man de la Mancha, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph ATDC, Les Miserables, Damn Yankees, Scarlet Pimpernel, Jeckyl and Hyde, Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, Ragtime, etc.
