Ah, I'm so pleased to see there are so many other die-hard Floyd fans here. Overall WYWH is my favorite, but at times I will listen to The Wall, Animals, DSotM, Final Cut, or Meddle for weeks without changing discs. I still listen to the earlier (pre-Meddle) and later (post-Waters) some but not nearly as much as the "classic Floyd albums."

Also, in regards to the post a page or two back about Pompeii on DVD, I hope you have been following the thread in the DVDTalk forum. It should be released soon (was scheduled for May but got pushed back). The cover art and menus have been posted in that thread. I can't wait! My VHS tape is about shot.

One more thing. Some of the Roger Waters sites are reporting that reliable sources have said that Roger is planning another tour (most likely US) next summer. If you have not seen Waters live, or are skeptical about a solo Waters show, do yourself a favor and go. At least watch the In the Flesh DVD and see for yourself. I went on a whim and was so blown away that I drove two states away and paid for a skeptical friend's ticket to see him again.

I've seen Waters and have to say that he is AWESOME! Unfortunately the last time he was anyplace close ( 2 years ago? ) the show sold out very quickly. When I saw him for Radio Kaos it was a great great great show. Well worth it to see the guy who actually wrote The Wall

Oh, and I voted for Animals, but having to choose one the Best album isn't an easy task because they're so diverse. I love The Wall, Final Cut, Meddle, DSOTM but right now Animals is may favorite

I expected Dark Side Of The Moon to be the favourite in this poll .. so I was pleasantly surprised to see that Wish You Were Here tops it by a wide margin.

Wish You Were Here really is their best moment .. it is consistently great, without any lapses into silliness or unecessary weirdness. The entire album follows an emotional arc that never loses momentum with a jarring out of place section. Simply a beautiful album.

Underrated? If anything, they're overrated.

Animals for the best, Dark Side, Final Cut and Wish You Were Here rounding out what's worth even listening to.

I probably shouldn't have voted because I have only heard The Final Cut, Obscured By Clouds, The Wall, Meddle and Dark Side Of The Moon, but "Moon" gets my vote.

Woo hoo! Just had to say I just picked up the 94 remaster of The Wall for $10.

And no, that's not my favorite. I'd have to say Meddle is. I know, Dark Side and others are oh so much more technically and structurally sound, but I don't care dangit, Meddle is my favorite, so there.

And I'm enjoying the new Pompeii dvd quite nicely.

Ditto. Gilmour is perhaps my favorite rock guitarist ever. Certainly one of the most expressive ever.

Um, that is most of them. I am surprised you didn't include Pulse or Echoes: The Greatest Hits.

Good job slugger.

DSOTM for me. LOVE the SACD of that one -- highly recommended, even as a double dip. Wish You Were Here is my choice for favorite single, though.

I love Animals, but Final Cut also gives me fond memories.

The Wall is one of the greatest albums of all time, IMHO. But I enjoy Animals more.

Dark Side of the Moon for me. I was home sick a couple of days ago, listening to it in surround and working on my DVD of Oz/Darkside. I still get chills hearing Gilmour's guitar ping-pong-ing around the room in the original quad mix, much more agressive than the multi-channel SACD.

Not only is it my favourite Floyd, but one of my two favourite albums of all time (the other is Lewis Taylor's self-titled debut).

I like Meddle the best. It's got a little bit of everything I like about Pink Floyd.

Now that I don't get high it's Wish You Were Here. Animals probably kept me getting high an extra year or two just because it was so great stoned. The Wall has some of my favorite Pink Floyd songs, but I like everything about Wish You Were Here.
