woo hoo, I have 2 (U2 & Tool). 95% of what's left I don't give a flying f**k about. And the record industry wonders why sales are in the tank :p |
I didn't expect to find one, but there are 4 I have. Dido, U2, Sade, Enya.
I bought a lot more that probably didn't even make the Top 500. |
After a quick count, I think I have 10. I forgot about the O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack, then remembered I got it as a gift a while back and just haven't listened to it yet.

Originally posted by Precious I'm wondering about the Now CD's we're upto Now 50 over here. Do the now 5,6 &7 have 2001 tracks on them or are they the versions which we have in the UK? Comparing the domestic one to the UK ones in the import sections, only about 2-3 tracks (of 18) match up since yours reflect current UK chart hits and ours is the US chart. Simply put, completely different for all intents and purposes. |
I have 2
IMO the best album this year was Horror Show by Iced Earth, probably not even in the top 1000 on Billboard though. |

(Just two?)
The Beatles - 1
Lenny Kravitz - GREATEST HITS |
I buy so many CD's it's scary, but can only get to 15 here, and even that includes 4 from my fiancee's collection that I wouldn't have otherwise purchased. I did much, much better with the Q magazine list also being batted around this board...
Bottom line: most music being heavily hyped these days isn't that good - even Billboard's editor said recently that all that's out there is teen pop, nu-metal, Nashville country, and samey sounding rap - to stay in business long-term, they are going to have to provide more intelligent alternatives here and there... though there are plenty of those available on indie and import labels everywhere these days (White Stripes, Ron Sexsmith, Avalanches, Theivery Corporation, Ed Harcourt, Wilco, Chamber Strings, and on and on and on...) |
Only 2. Creed - Human Clay and U2 - All That You Can't Leave Behind

1. Beatles - 1
2. Staind - Break the Cycle 3. O Brother, Where Art Thou? - Soundtrack Various 4. Lifehouse - No Name Face 5. Faith Hill - Breathe 6. D12 - Devil's Night 7. Dixie Chicks - Fly 8. 3 Doors Down - The Better Life 9. Tool - Lateralus 10. Incubus - Make Yourself Of the 10 numbered, I bought Staind, O Brother, Faith Hill, and Incubus myself. The rest were given to me by friends, lovers, or family. I can say that I don't listen to these cds on a regular basis anymore. Most are hardly listened to at all anymore.(2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.) |

I have six - but all are bootlegs or copies.
Let the flaming begin!!! In my defence, I would have bought NONE of them anyway so in that sense, it is no loss of income to the artist, other than adding to the overall woes of the industry by encouraging the bootleggers to do it at all. Had I not bought bootlegs, I do not feel I would have missed much anyway. Terry |
I only have 1.
Fuel - Something Like Human |
4 (Beatles, U2, Dixie Chicks, and O Brother). No interest in any others...

How embarrassing. And from the list it looks like I have a taste for nothing but one-hit wonder alterna-sludge and tinkly, bling-bling R&B. But I can proudly say that only 6 of those albums were purchased new (well, new and on sale for $11.99) - OutKast, Janet, U2, Tool, Weezer, Maxwell. All the rest were purchased used at prices well below $8.99 a pop. |
11. Most popular music sucks. Radio sucks too. I prefer lesser known artists.
