Jewel's new cd!

Hey everyone! Check out this sample of a single from Jewels new cd This Way, which is scheduled for release on Nov. 13.

Standing Still

What do you think? I sorta like it. It's definitely a new sound for her.

Hey, isn't she that girl who lived in a van who writes poetry that parallel's the work of a 4th grader and occassionally sings her poetry too?

New jewel CD

What up.
Jewel has a new CD coming out next month, it's called This Way. I have already heard it and just wented to tell you all it is great, and to go get it on November 13th. If you like Sheryl Crow, Tori Amos, No Doubt, or Sarah Mcaughlin, you will love it. It is a totally new sound for Jewel. Don't let the first single, Standing Still, scare you, this is not a totally pop album. A lot of the songs on This Way have a rock edge or funky new sounds.

Thanks guys, Reg

Listen to Jewel's new single "Standing Still" It's GREAT!

Yes! And here's to hoping that this album's more like her first one than Spirit. I liked the first one.

I met her backstage back in '97. She's a total bitch. She looked like it was painful to socialize with her fans.

Well in that case, she looks fat in the tenth picture.

I had the opportunity to check this album out tonight.

I REALLY liked it! She's expanded her range considerably.

My fav song: Serv The Ego
Funky song.

I hope that's true, although I haven't heard the entire album yet. I loved Jewel's first album (it is one of my all-time favorites), but I didn't care for the second one too much. I thought she tried to proselytize a bit too much, if that makes sense.

i dled this album about a week ago. it's not very good in my opinion. the first 2 were better (this is not counting the poem cd and xmas one, which suck too)

i liked track1 (standing still) and track 8 (this way) though

Heh. Maybe she had a good reason to be a bitch, especially if you greeted her with this:

I have heard her new album too and I think it is great! My favorites are Till we run out of Road, This Way, and Love Me Just Leave Me Alone. She has definatly made a new sound for herself. Her voice is more beautiful than ever and her lyric and songwriting abilities are amazing! I also love the 2 bonus live tracks, Grey Matter has to be one of the best songs she has ever written. Highly Recomended

Well, we obviously have mixed opinions here. I went looking for the cd today, hoping someone put it out a day early, but to no avail. I guess I will have to go between classes tomorrow to see if I can find it. I'm looking forward to giving it a listen.

I downloaded a couple songs that are on Jewels's new album. Thought they were pretty good. As soon as my tight college student budget can afford it, I'm gonna go out and buy it.

For the life of me I could not get into
her second album at all. There was only
one song I liked and it wasn't that it
deviated from the style of her first disc
(which I love) it just seemed poorly
put together and not as original as
her first.

I eventually sold it at second hand
story after trying for months to get
into it.

I hope this one is a better offering.

Its amazing the distance that cute or sexy buys you in the music business. Some of the worst artists have had some great careers built around a look that carried a sound. I'm still amazed though at how that process can continue to carry them through second and third albums. Hell, Madonna built an empire around her sexuality, Jewel really does write songs that sound like a typical fourth graders effort at epiphany and Britney has elevated the shallow tease teen visuals to new heights. Granted, I can watch a Shania Twain concert for two hours but to be honest, I do have the mute button on.

Anything that you wanna do, anyplace that you wanna go
Don't need permission for everything that you want
Any taste that you feel is right
Wear any clothes just as long as they're bright
Say what you want, 'cos this is a new art school
