Am I allowed to like Travis?
Silly question, I'm sure. I mean, I don't base my likes on what any critics or charts say, but do consider the band/artist's agendas and genesi. Are these guys real? At first listen, Side (I believe it's called) seems to have some type of "poppy" bubble gum like feel, but deeper listening reveals not so plain and innocent lyrics, with overlaying guitar chords that have that Radiohead/dirge-like feel that I like also.
What's the deal? |
Thanks, I'll have to look up some of their other stuff, I just can't tell with the way radio stations pick their playlists these days.

I agree with Greeny, check out the first album and in particular the song "u16 Girls", like the hidden track from "The Man Who" - "blue flashing lights" these songs really are when Travis rock out.

'U16 Girls' is wonderful.. Also check out some of their b-sides from the first album, as well. They're ace.

dude pick up "The Man Who".
it's dark and gorgeous to listen to. the hidden (mentioned above) Blue Flashing Light does rock. the first album "Good Feeling" is good too and more upbeat but THe Man WHo is their masterpiece in my opinion. the "Invisible Band" is kind of bland but still good. I always liked that little cowbell/guitar thing that was going on Sing. ---even if we all said they suck it would still be ok for you to like them. |
I like Travis. They sound like Radiohead from 1995.(The Bends)
