Worst live band?

The Goo Goo Dolls are really bad. Their singer sings out of key all the time.

palebluedot 11-17-01 02:03 PM

Mary J. Blige...saw her booed off the stage in Philly. Actually most R&B artists are bad live.

Nosebleed 11-17-01 02:23 PM

The Strokes
Boooring!

Jason 11-17-01 02:46 PM

I sat through Robert Palmer live once...

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

woofman 11-17-01 03:23 PM

God Lives Under Water: Talk about asleep at the wheel...

Absolutely no energy live whatsoever

If we're talking about terrible--you gotta throw Semisonic in there.

palebluedot 11-17-01 10:43 PM

Oh yeah, worst show I ever saw was Smashing Pumpkins. It was just after Gish was released so maybe they were still working out the kinks...but they sucked big ass.

I have not had the misfortune of seeing them, but I have never heard a positive review of a Third Eye Blind concert.

2 worst live bands I ever saw was G-n-R and Pearl Jam.

Axle left the stage about every other song (probably to get more drugs) and Eddie Vedder would complain about ticketmaster between each song.

1. Do your drugs before the show Axle, then you can get more songs in.

2. I don't care about your politics Eddie. I spent 50 bucks to hear you sing, not whine.

Bob Dylan was the worst I ever saw.

I saw him in Foxboro stadium with the Grateful Dead. We couldn't make out any of the words. I recognized one song by the base line. That night my friend played a Firesign Theater routine that made fun of Dylan's vocals being mumbled back in the early 70s.

Years later I met someone who had been at the same concert, right up next to the stage. He said that I couldn't understand Dylan because he was so drunk that he throwing up on stage. I hadn't noticed, because the guys running the big screen cut a different camera every time he did that.

Jesus and Mary Chain were pretty awful when I saw them open for Iggy Pop way back when.

Insane Clown Posse also sucks AND blows. I accidently saw them when they opened for the Toy Dolls.

mljones99 11-26-01 12:15 AM

Incubus *yawn*

mike1978 11-26-01 12:29 AM

Maybe it was just the one show I went to, but the Red House Painters are incredibly boring live.

That's blasphemy! :grunt: (though I do agree that he is a bit overly dramatic at times, they do put out about 30 songs a show).

Out of the 27 (soon to be 29, U2 on Saturday, STP on NYE) concerts I've been to, none of them have been bad (except for Ozzfest, but I blame that on the conditions), so my vote would go to the Smashing Pumpkins. Not that it was a bad show, but Billy would sometimes start to just scream lyrics in a way that just didn't seem right with the songs (like Stand Inside Your Love).

moorehed 11-26-01 12:57 AM

insane clown posse has to be one of the funnest shows ive ever been too!

as for the worst... i dunno... i think i dhave to say sonic youth. chili peppers sucked when i saw them too..

Precious 11-26-01 04:39 AM

I think the worst to date is PJ Harvey, I really didn't enjoy that.

Keyser Soze 11-26-01 10:34 AM

years ago I seen "Mili Vanilli" at a radio station 'listener appreciation' show.....

I will second this one - which is a shame because i dig the band. I saw them in '94 when I was in college and they were AWFUL - worst being that they played less than 40 minutes. Corgan had some kind of tantrum over something - no clue what it was, but he acted like the audience was the problem - and stormed off after a pretty weak set. "Ahtists." Very disappointing; the opening act Red Red Meat was much better.

Applejack 11-26-01 11:40 PM

So many votes for the Smashing Pumpkins... I have to add another one.

They sucked live big time. They would play 20 minute (or what felt like 20 minutes) ballads. Awful Awful crap. His voice really sucks live also

dvduser6 11-26-01 11:53 PM

Morrissey back in 1993 or 1994 (the "Your Arsenal" tour). Absolutely awful. He madenot attempt to connect with the audience and really seemed to be going through the motions that night.

Burnt Alive 11-27-01 01:39 AM

Tiger Army
