Why did Steve Perry leave Journey?

Never have gotten an answer to that!

Didn't you see the Behind the Music? Creative differences and a general disgust for the rest of the band members.

According to him on Behind the Music, he hurt his hip on a vacation and wanted time to heal, the band wanted to tour, so he said goodbye.

And then they went on tour with a guy that sounds exactly like him. I'm not trying to be funny but that is literally "adding insult to injury".

It's your typical story of "Hey, let's work for years to be a big success and then totally f%$k it up!"

Replacing Steve Perry with someone who sounds similar (but nowhere near the voice Perry has) is kinda pathetic IMO.

Either move on in another direction, or wait for Perry to recover.
Getting someone to imitate Steve Perry makes the band look pretty lame.

Did anyone listen to their new CD? I found it to be terrible.
I don't know if Perry's voice would have made much of a difference with the songs on this CD.

I think Arrival is a great sounding album, one of their best since Escape. It certainly tops Raised on Radio and Trial By Fire. Steve Augeri is an awesome singer in his own right. I've seen Journey with him 4 times now and I have loved it every time. When I got to meet then at an after show meet and greet he was very nice and truly appreciative of the opportunity to sing with Journey. Don't get me wrong, I do miss Steve Perry, but I think Journey made the right choice for a replacement. The problem with Arrival is that Sony gave it zero promotion. Although Journey is not a young band they would sell millions of records if Sony would promote them. Because, believe it or not, the public in general is heavily influenced by record company PR machines and will like what they are told to like if it is thrown at them enough.

So, anyway, give Arrival a chance.

[Didn't you see the Behind the Music?]

Yeah, I was getting severe douche chills during the part where Jonathan Cain was crying crocodile tears over the sick kid. The guy might as well be forced to wear a dress and pony tails in public from now on.
