I think it was the Bee Gees

It was Samantha Sang, but the Bee Gees produced it, wrote it and sang background vocals, so it sounds just like them. BTW, the Bee Gees will be releasing their own newly recorded version on their upcoming 2 CD hits collection, which will be released in November. It'll also feature their versions of hits they wrote for other artists, such as "Heartbreaker", "Islands In The Stream" and "Immortality".
