Widespread Panic DVD
 

Anyone find or try to find the Widespread Panic Live in Alabama DVD released today? I heard that Best Buy and Tower weren't going to carry it.

If anyone's got it, I'd love to hear a review. Thanks.

You would be best of trying record stores. I went to both Tower and Best Buy neither had it. I found it a Sam Goody music store and picked it up there. You can also get it from www.widespreadpanic.com and buying it there it's fairly cheap and they ship pretty quickly. The DVD is very nice. It's a two disc set in a case like Gladiator of Mummy ultimate edition. The songs sounds great and Dave Schools bass rocks the sub during many parts of the show. They used alot of cameras to film the show so you get to watch all the guys in the band and some cool shots from other places in the venue. Cool shots of all the lighters in the audience during Wish You Were Here and when Jojo get's pelted with lighters during Big Wooly Mammoth. As Panic fan of more then 10 years I highly recommend it.

As I was getting ready to leave work, I called Best Buy, the Tower Megastore, the Virgin Megastore, Circuit City, and Sam Goody. No luck. In a last desperate attempt, I called the Wherehouse (who never seems to have much of anything). They've got a copy. Looks like the Godfather will be put on hold for a night.

Just picked it up...$21.59 at the Wherehouse. The picture is great. Tons of camera angles, great direction. The sound is incredible. I've seen Panic live and it hasn't thundered this much. Schools' bass absolutely thumps. My only complaint...no booklet insert. That ain't much of a complaint though, as long as the picture and sound is as good as it is. Hopefully, Panic will be doing more of these. I'll pick up each one...next best thing to being there.
