Today's CDs (10/3)

For me today, the same as yesterday. I couldn't get to everything because of meetings, etc.

I went to the Lennon thing last night. Really good seats. Waiting in line to get in I was standing next to Tim Roth, Michael Douglas and Mark Messier. Surreal.

Lots of bad performances, obviously. Good ones: Craig David doing "Come Together." Lou Reed on "Jealous Guy" and Rufus Wainright on "Across the Universe."

It wasn't even that entertaining on a spectacle level, although the stage was nice.

Seeing as how the new Charlatans U.K. CD is so damn good I thought I'd listen to a mix of their best discs.

1. Wonderland
2. Some Friendly
3. Between 10th And 11th
4. Tellin' Stories
5. The Charlatans U.K.

I ended up watching about half of it I guess. I had it on in the background while I was doing other things. The clips & the quotes & people telling us what John Lennon stood for, etc. made me sick pretty quickly. I got to see Lou which was pretty much what I expected. I was surprised by Sean Lennon & thought his 2 songs near the end were very touching. Of course the big sing-along at the end was a mess. I had to look away.

The only cd I listened to today was Lucinda Williams - Essence.

Today I've listened to:

Tenacious D
System Of A Down - Toxicity
Dieselboy - The Sixth Session
Roni Size - New Forms Disc One

Now i'm listening to a live mix done by DJ Brockie with MC Det and MC Skibadee.
