I love that stuff too ! i think there's some crossover. Like you couldn't not call Boogie Wonderland by Earth wind a fire a disco song.

Early Michael Jackson stuff like Off the Wall and Don't stop til you get enough to me is gold

i really enjoy aggresive music, I know it's not a genre, but it works for me because so many genre's can be aggresive in one way or another. could be the way SRV attacks a solo, or the way James Hetfield of Metallica plays rhythm. it's all about energy and feeling to me.

Probably metal, but not a specific sub-genre. I dig Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Maiden, Iced Earth, Nevermore, Opeth, Tool.

Currently it's techno, specifically trance, but my taste in music is very broad and it depends on my mood.

90-ish Alterna-chick (i.e. Tori Amos, Juliana Hatfield, Bjork, etc.)

Good thing I can only name one genre in this thread, I'm not sure what genre my current favorite band, Tortiose, would fall into. (post-rock-insturmental-jazz-fusion-trance-percussion/xylophone-music?)

Early-mid 90's "alternative" rock. To be even more specific, Grunge. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, STP etc. are among my faves.

My number one genre would be "cheesy, pouty, gothic synth-pop from the 80's." Followed closely by literally anything that could be labelled "Beatles-esque."

Don't necessarily have a favorite, but the genre I listen to most is:

No Depression (aka Alt.Country, originated with and takes name from first album by punk band Uncle Tupelo about 10 years ago)

Btw, for the cynics, ND (as in No Depression/iNDie) is wholly unrelated to 'country music' but for some common influences and instruments It was when angst added a pedal steel, some real guitars, and vintage amps

A garage/soul/r&b/punk/blues/surf/dirty/lo-fi hybrid or most of what In The Red Records puts out.
