Hey I actually bought that Top Gun Maverick popcorn bucket 2 years ago.

Currently using it to store kitchen utensils. See, they aren't always complete expensive junk!

I saw The Monkey last night (early screening) Someone actually bought that bucket. It was $44.99.

I actually kind of want one, though the price is a tad ridiculous.

I purchased one. Across the Spider-verse. My daughter and I were looking forward to that film (the first is one of our favorites) so the bucket was a nice treat. I'm not big on popcorn so the buckets don't interest me all that much.

No way I buy these things at the price point they are. Generally around $50 is too much.
Last one, only one we bought was a Spiderman bucket from two movies back.
We've been using it in the kitchen as a little trash can.

I think it was $20

This guy seems to be a hardcore collector.

All your wives would probably kick you out of the house if you dedicated all that space to popcorn buckets

I have all of these buckets and cups. They look nice sitting on shelves in my home theater.

We have telescoping travel stools that work like that, it's a slick design. The stools can hold 400 lbs. and they pack easy. Highly recommended.

That shield bucket just gave me a flashback to the collapsible cup my mom kept in her purse in the 80s (back when I was too short to reach the water fountain).

I wish they had something like this back in the 90s when I attended San Diego Comic-con all those years and was constantly in a line.

Re: Do you purchase collectible popcorn buckets?

I don't count the refill buckets the same as the collectible buckets. I buy the refill bucket each year. The locally owned theater about 30 minutes away does one and they only charge $2.50 for refills (free on certain days). I don't go there often enough though, so I am stuck with the AMC one.

As for the collectible ones, there are a few I have thought about getting, but the prices are way too high. I have a ton of credits saved up, so I figured one day I will cash them in on one of these buckets. I was going to pull the trigger for the Nosferatu coffin, but it wasn't at AMC. The Alien ones were amazing. I think the only other one I considered was the R2-D2 way back before this really became a thing.

Another collectible popcorn bucket collector. Impressive mancave collection. The new Captain America shield bucket is on the top left of the picture. That thing is huge.

I have tins for The Phantom Menace (25th Anniversary), The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker, and The Batman.

Haven’t bought any of the novelty buckets otherwise. I was tempted by the ones for Deadpool & Wolverine but ultimately passed. Also can’t remember but I think one of them sold out and I wanted both.

I saw a complaint on social media that the collectible popcorn buckets, at least at AMC, don't even come with popcorn, you have to buy it separately, and thought of this thread.

I was also really tempted by the Captain American one even though we didn't go to see that movie, but the one they had on display was all dented so I came to my senses quickly.

I regretted getting the semi trailer popcorn bucket for Transformers. The ad showed the trailer filled with popcorn and the cab fill with pop and you drink from the exhaust pipe. In reality, they hand you a junky plastic toy, a bucket of popcorn and a regular cup for coke, so paid an extra $20 for the toy.

Considering how expensive these things are, I suspect the vast majority of people buying them wouldn't want greasy, stinky popcorn served in them. They'd probably be harder than hell to clean and risk damage from the soap and water used to clean them. They're being sold as collectibles, and not a practical food container.

I've got the two alien heads and the face-hugger tank and I wouldn't want to have to clean grease out of them.

Yeah at the IMAX opening night showing the guy next to me had the cup and he had to tell the whole theater multiple times how much he loved it. I was like dude... get a life. :scratch2:

I would if it was from a movie I really enjoyed a lot and didn't take up a lot of space like the Captain America one.

I would've thought for that price they give you a box of popcorn on the side, but I guess not.
