I'm sorry, but "Cop Land" is his greatest performance. Ever. And it's criminal he didn't even get nominated for that. It's also a great film.

I'm currently revisiting the Rocky movies. Up next is Rocky III, the one I remember the least. I only remember that
Spoiler:
Mick dies,

Mr. T is the villain, Clubber Lang, and that Hulk Hogan has a cameo in the beginning.

In a weird way I consider Rocky Balboa to be the end of the Rocky series and Creed to be the start of a different series. Even though Stallone is playing the same character, they feel like two different characters to me.

It's because of the continuity. Rocky was in a better place at the end of Rocky Balboa than he was at the beginning of Creed. The latter not only erases Marie and Steps, it also erases the reconciliation between Rocky and Robert. I enjoy Creed but always have to ignore the inconsistencies to make it fit.

He has the best Judge Dredd face, and yes, Copland is criminally underrated.

Maybe Cliffhanger has its fans?

Over the Top was good though cheesy

I am not sure who has the streaming rights and it is OOP on Blu-ray in the U.S. but I would like to see F.I.S.T. again.

FIST was cool, I used to own the Kino BD but sold it. I shouldn't have but who knows, it might come to 4K soon enough.

Fixed that for you, cos we never should have seen him without the helmet. I liked the movie, but that helmet removal always pissed me off.

Truth about the jaw and helmet. Sly and all probably required that he not wear it for most of the movie, for reasons.

Also, no disrespect to Karl Urban (he and Dredd are awesome), Sly has the best delivery of "I am the law!"

Stallone is a great dramatic actor, but his range is limited. In Rocky (Creed), First Blood, Paradise Alley or Cop Land he showed his talent, but he always played a loser, who's at best street smart, but more of a simpleton. Stallone wouldn't have had a career like Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman or Robert DeNiro as a dramatic actor.

That "Go ahead. I don't shop here" line in Cobra is an all-time favorite.

That one is good... along with "You know what the trouble with you is? You're too violent". Coming from Stallone and his delivery just makes it.

He definitely created two of the most iconic characters of all time in Rocky and Rambo. Unfortunately I think both franchise (Rambo in particular) went downhill pretty quickly after the first film.

I really love First Blood. Such a great movie that’s more than just action nonsense like its sequels and much of the rest of Stallone’s films.

Of course the original Rocky is fantastic too. I do like Rocky II and Rocky III. The franchise goes downhill slowly from there.

I like The Expendables and The Expendables 2 quite a bit as well. The third one isn’t great and I never watched the fourth one.

Oh, and Escape Plan rules. Sorry, not sorry. Never seen the sequels.

One of my favorites of both Stallone and Schwarzenegger. Unfortunate that they didn’t get over their rivalry earlier as I would have liked to have seen more team up movies from them.

When I was a kid First Blood: Part II and Rambo III were the two that always played on TV (or at least the two my dad always watched) so imagine my surprise the first time I saw First Blood and realized it was a more dramatic role that had actual depth. The red bandana wearing, explosive arrow shooting, Rambo that I grew up knowing only came around after the first one and focused solely on cheesy 80s action.

I saw First Blood: Part II first and liked it. Then a few years later saw First Blood and loved it so much I ended up not really liking Part II anymore. Don't ask me why I didn't see the original first... who knows. Part 3 was meh and I still haven't seen 4 and 5.

True or he would have not done all those sequels if he had true acting skills.

That was his last big budget studio feature before his career stalled for the next 10 years. Fun movie. I'm not counting Copland, because that was his actual last good film, but it wasn't a big budget action film, etc.

It wasn't until Rocky Balboa and Rambo 4 that rescued him from DTV fodder.
