I gave her the diaries and mentioned The Punisher discrepancy. She said, "Oh, is this like a 'Mandela effect' kind of thing? Does this mean I invented The Punisher?"

She didn't question why you read her diaries?

That's what I was wondering!

Can she ask your brother?

(Estrangement is tough, by the way, and I wanted to say I'm sorry you're going through that. It's a different, and legitimate, kind of grief.)

What story said, but this reminds me that I had a similar school project in 7th grade. I found the journal decades later and they were mainly detailed accounts of the football games we played at school and in the neighborhood street after school. They included stats iirc.

It could be Predator 1987, released on video in January 1988, but a bit earlier for rental. I remember this since we rented the heck out of it in early 1988.

They're from when she was eight, so there isn't going to be any deep personal writing in them, just mundane cataloguing of daily events, nearly 99% of which I was there for (we're "Irish twins", so at that age we were like a single unit).

Thanks. I do see him once in awhile, and this is the sort of enquiry he would find fascinating. I'll be back to update the thread after I get his take (which could be months).

I also found this little two-page re-cap she wrote in there about the movie Witchboard

"Friday December 18, 1987
Last night I watched witch bord.
It was about a woman named Linda and she used a weege bord.
She contacted a evil spirit when she...

"... thought she contacted the spirit of David.
David is ten years old. He was a child.
Brandon did not want her to use the weege bord. He got rid of it."

Well, she's no Roger Ebert.

Damn, I thought I was going to be really clever and be the first person in 30 posts to suggest it was an anal fisting porn.

Maybe she actually watched Ben Hur and was making a joke.

If you didn't get that, the pun is "her."
