I've said that too!

Since the last one went to space, I can only assume there is time travel in this one.

That's one of the theories for F11!

And although they are clearly reaching, another article (from the same site) doubles down on this theory.

When Fast Five came out and it was merely starting to get ridiculous, there was a satirical review that suggested future movies would go to space (check) and the final movie would involve the crew travelling back in time to stop a villain that wants to prevent the invention of the Model T

They accidentally end up in Tenet and have to drive all the way back to before the franchise began.

They should go the multiverse route and have the team battle doppelgangers from different worlds. The Old West, one where the Nazis won WWII, a Flintstones-like dinosaur world, a gender-flipped world...the possibilities are endless!

So this is apparently going to be available on digital starting on the 9th. I guess Universal isn't sticking to the over $50mil opening = at least 31 day theatrical window anymore.

This is pretty much d.o.a. at the box office at this point, is it not? I don't know if there are any big international markets left, but it looks like this might not even hit 700m worldwide. It's crazy how far this series has fallen since F8. I mean it's not that crazy because the movies have gotten worse and worse, but it's hard to believe they're still planning multiple sequels at this stage.

Regardless if it is currently pretty much dead, the deal Uni had made with theatres is films that open above $50mil will play for 31 days theatrically. Less than $50mil is 17 days.

I wonder if there's some sort of minimum screen threshold. Fast X might not be playing on many more screens once Transformers hits.

Considering how disappointing the box office is with the balloon of a budget, Universal has to slash the budget for 11 and wrap it up. They’ll probably order a tight budget for the Hobbs solo movie as well. You just can’t do a $300M plus budget and expect a profit.

Just so Iím understanding this since they all seem to blur together now, the beginning vault heist in X was Fast Five footage, 10 years ago, and they just inserted the new scenes with Mamoa and all?

If they'd had the sense to do that the budget wouldn't be so high.
Producer: "Why don't we just excerpt the vault heist from FAST FIVE and add it here, intercut with some shots of Momoa?"
Director: "Oh no, this is a mega-budget movie and has to be all new. We don't want to re-use such old footage and be accused of cutting corners now, do we? Let's just restage the whole thing and shoot it all anew."
Studio: "Ummm, okay."

Itís a mix of old and new footage. This series has done it before.

I wonder what are the alternatives that could be misunderstood as to what is going on? Walker is back from the dead? Monoa was in the movie 12 years ago but cut out?

Walker could have easily been in X with the tech they have. I mean you only see him for a minute or less.

as I said, since I watched 5-9 practically back to back…, they all blur together. But now I know. Thanks. When have they reused footage before?

Letty died in Fast and Furious. Her death and survival was recreated in Fast and Furious 6 with the amnesia plot.

Han died in Tokyo Drift and his "death" footage was reused and recreated in the post credit scene of Fast and Furious 6 and later again in F9 to explain his survival.

i found this movie a little too absurd. flying cars and some of the other junk they came up with. i like the characters a lot and their interactions. it's dumb fun, but sometimes it was too much dumb and not fun, but overall decent flick.

Re: Fast X (Fast & Furious 10) (2023, D: Leterrier ) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

This is the "too absurd" one?

This is the most down to earth flick since Fast Five. 6, 7, 8, 9 and Hobbes and Shaw brought us 26 mile runways, tanks, parachuting cars, submarines, sports cars on ice, rocket car Fieros in space, God's Eyes, characters collapsing parking garages with a foot stomp, flying magnet cars and full on superheroes in H&S, (Hobbes pulling down two copters with his hands). They've also managed to bring back no less than 3 dead characters. They also brought in some soap opera staples like "character returns with amnesia" and "long lost evil brother."

Logic and gravity left this series a decade ago.

...and Momoa was absolutely terrible. he wasn't even a fun villain to watch. way to over the top and just didn't land the sticking at all.

Fucking hell, this film was unbearable. And Momoa was the worst part. Beyond cringe terrible. I hated everything about this movie. Worst in the series IMO. But I really liked two of them, #5 and #6.

Completely went over my heard that there will be a part 2 and 3. I feel like I just had sex without cumming. Who the fuck thought ending a 'Fast' movie on a cliffhanger was a good idea?
Anyway, it was decent. Better than 9 at least. Worst part was Momoa. It could have been a fun role, but it was ruined by his terrible, just absolutely terrible, acting.
