I always knew the name but most of his music was before my time so I never really paid much attention to him. News of his death inspired me to look up his songs. Holy shit! This dude wrote ALL the hits!

Good for him. Obviously he was out of the limelight for awhile before his death but the guy left an indelible mark on the music Industry.

If your're interested. A recent Dionne Warwick documentary is available, CNN I think. One of the premium channels, MGM+ or Showtime has a documentary on A&M records. It's really good. Burt had involvement with A&M also.

He wrote a lot of theme songs for movies and complete film scores as well. I saw both CASINO ROYALE (1967) and BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID (1969) when they came out and listened to the soundtrack albums of his scores afterwards. I once had an album of all the movie title songs he and his partner Hal David had written up till then, all sung by Dionne Warwick. My favorite was "April Fools" from the 1969 comedy-romance of that name with Jack Lemmon and Catherine Deneuve.

I watched the Warwick one on HBO Max and liked it. Bacharach had a great career.

The vast majority of Burt's work was way before my time. But, I am aware of a lot of it. I mean who wasn't aware of "Raindrops keep fallin' on my head" from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.?

Back in the day, thought he was a lucky man to be married to Angie Dickinson.

One of my favorite Bacharach songs, although he hated this version:
